[Mr. 3]

I finally did it. The temptation of the 335 was too much so I pulled the trigger today. I had to order it mainly because there were no manual transmissions in or around my area. So this is what I got:

335i Sedan
6 MT
Sparkling Graphite
Black Leather
Aluminum trim
Sport pkg
Cold Weather pkg

I think I got a pretty good deal since I paid 2,000 less MSRP.
They said it should be 6-8 weeks, which will give me plenty of time to sell my GLI.

6-8 weeks seems optimistic to me since BMW has put a restriction on the production of ALL 3 series(perhaps not the convertible) with the turbo engine due to lack of availability of the engine. Most are being told that July delivery was the earliest.

If it was a 328i I would believe 6-8 weeks, but a 335i? Well, I will be really surprised!!

The most important thing is did they give the OP a production number yet. If not, the car isn't going to be in Cali in 6-8 weeks!

1) call the 800#
2) wait to hear voice begin speaking and press 2
3) wait to hear voice begin speaking and type in production #
4) wait to hear voice begin speaking and press 1
5) listen to the status of your vehicle

I call it probably twice a day EVERYDAY just to see what my car is up to

Once I found out that the status from "Scheduled for Production with no confirmed production date" doesn't change until a week or less prior to it actually going into production, I stopped calling every day. This is week 15 now, so I will probably call later this week and hope to hear something NEW for the first time in a MONTH!!!!

Once my car is a Status 150, I'll probably start calling once a day again!!!
