Did you know people who build new 335i's were doing so under supervision of old BMW engineers who build real cars? But in a middle of the build process old engineers went to a month long vacation leading to faulty HPFP design and possible flaws in other components.

From what I heard, some of the engineers just finished college and lacked experience building cars. There was initial delay for 3 weeks so they could get some hands on training on how to use screw drivers and torque wrenches before they were allowed to start building the engine.

One of the lead engineers that build E34 15 years ago was quoted: 'I just came back from vacation and from looks of it the new guys messed the 335I pretty bad, but I drive a quality build E34 so I don't really care'. The BMW chairmen followed up with 'Yes the quality of E34 can't be beat, there is NO QUESTION ABOUT IT' he followed with a loud bang on the table and a huge round of applause from people who attended the press release was heard.

All of a sudden Arnold busted through the wall in a mint E34 M5 and yelled out like a lion in a moment of heat 'BEER TO CELEBRATE REAL GERMAN ENGINEERING!!!' and as he finished 100 build German men burst in with kegs and kegs of German beer. Everybody cheers 'LONG LIVE E34' for hours and hours. The tears flown out of old engineers as people praised them over and over.

24 hours into this amazing party the oldest, the most wise engineer got up and yelled 'BRING ME THE GUYS WHO DESIGNED E90!!! BRING THEM TO ME' and 20 most fit German men rushed outside and came back with the E90's engineering team who were sobbing uncontrollably.

The top engineer started throwing chairs around and yelled as loud as a passing train 'WE DRINK TO DEATH TONIGHT' and everybody once again cheered and went crazy.

That night the single E34 engineer out-drunk the whole E90 engineering team. Germany was so embarrassed they had to deport the individuals. But don't worry, from what I heard they work at Kia now.
I can't argue as my E34 has been problem free for 16 years.

My E28 is superior to your E34...less electronics to go wrong. 250k miles and still running like a champ.

it happens on these cars, luckily for you it occurred when BMW would still replace them for free!
You will see that theres a history of stuff going wrong on the 335, and owning one out of warranty is probably not the smartest option you can choose
