N54 Sump gasket replacement cost

Am going to have the 35is leaky sump gasket replaced shortly, I was quoted around £450 by my indie but there's a garage local to me in which I've noticed a couple of 335i & a M235i that were in for work. So I popped in tis morning & was quoted £274, which I thought was pretty good. What prices have you guys paid or been quoted?

That's an amazing price, I had a look to double check with the N54 but it appears you still have to drop the A frame in which case £450 was a similar quote to what I had for the M57.. but £274 sounds like a steal, I'd be interested to see what others have been quoted.

Yeah I to thought it was cheap, although this garage has been in the same place for at least 30 years, the mechanic I spoke with was Eastern European & they had to make a pone call to find out how many hours labour, when I mentioned dropping the front sub frame it was obvious that he hadn't done one before, how difficult could it be?

I wouldn't say it's difficult at all, though I've not done it myself I have watched a few videos explaining the procedure and no doubt it's labour intensive but it's nothing complex. This video is short and sweet to the point of why the cost is quite high, engine has to be supported from the top, all arms to the subframe have to be removed etc
