Park Light Failure

Today I got the warning that my left hand front park light had failed (xenon lights, factory angel eyes). The mania says that I can't change the bulb and need an experienced BMW service Tech to do the job. I'm thinking A/ Can I claim it under warranty? B/ How hard can it be to change a bulb? C/ Where do I get a bulb and how much? Any advice will be much appreciated.

Pre-Lci is relatively straight forward but time consuming:

- jack car up
- remove wheel
- unscrew guard liner
- unscrew cover to lower part of headlight
- unscrew angel eye
- replace angel eye and repeat the above in reverse.

I have some spare ones for your car, I'll see if I can find them and will post down no charge.

Thank you very much, that's fantastic. How long are these meant to last? The car has only done 51,000 km. Also will the error code clear itself or will it need to be reset?

The code will clear itself.

regular incandescent bulbs will last anywhere from 3-7 years depending on conditions... if your car is 07, it sounds about right. The other side might go soon as well.

You could upgrade to LUX LEDs as well, but I don't have any stock on those at the moment as they have become something of a 'special order' for the pre-LCI E90s.

Well now I'm not sure whats going on. Right hand side went out yesterday, which I was expecting. What I wasn't expecting was the left hand side to come back on! Now I'm not sure if it's a condensation problem or what. On another note whats the cost of the LUX upgrade, and is it as simple as just changing the bulb?

I get the same error every now and then for my right hand side angel eyes. I just slap the headlight a couple of times and it always comes back on.
