Exclamation Teaser pics: BMS boost gauge / map switcher

This is from n54tech posted by Russ @ BMS

We've had this under wraps for quite some time, but I'm pleased to announce that the BMS boost gauge/ IAT gauge/ map switcher is in the final stages of development!

The software features are still being fine-tuned, but here are a few things you can expect to see in the final product:

Software Features:
- Boost pressure monitoring
- Intake air temperature (IAT) monitoring.
- Integrated JB3 map switching (with the ability to choose between 4 different maps)
- Peak/hold functionality that allows you to go back and view the peak IAT/boost values attained during a run. In other words, you can do a run, pull over, then go back and check to see what your peak boost value was. No more swerving down the road as you attempt to keep your eyes on the boost gauge
- Adaptive boost calibration that will zero the boost gauge to compensate for atmospheric pressure differences. This means that the gauge will correctly display the positive boost pressure that your engine sees, regardless of what altitude you're at.

Hardware Features:
- User-friendly 2-button interface
- Uses factory BMW sensors (no need for external sensors!)
- High efficiency amber display is a near perfect match for the 135/335 gauge cluster and interior lights
- Uses a special (and very expensive!) optical filter to cover the face of the display. The filter itself is a multilayer laminate which boasts a dual circular-polarizing film, a non-reflective/anti-glare top coat, and finally a scratch-proof hardcoat on the outer surface. The end result is that the gauge will provide maximum sunlight readability by combating the infamous "sun wash" that typically plagues other LED gauges.

Keep in mind guys that this is still an UNFINISHED PROTOTYPE

So that's it for now. Stay tuned for updates

I really like the functions. But I would love to see a more integrated solution

definately a step in the right direction. the aesthetics could use a little work, but very functional though.
a bit off topic but any plans to incorporate a pc interface to the JB3 in time?

Someone needs to crack the idrive interface and add a virtual gauge cluster display -- for those of us with idrive/nav. I've always assumed this could be a software/ecu approach, but intercepting and replacing its display input signal could work also.

I'd love these gauges, but don't really want to jam a new gauge somewhere (though various attempts / products do it fairly well).

That said -- this is cool and I like the combination of functions.

whats the parrot. I see where it is from your pic but I noticed that you already have a boost gauge. Is it some kind of radar detector?

My vent gauge also has a menu system to switch jb3 maps, I guess I shoulda mentioned that sooner... was just trying to keep it secret until the official launch, but since people keep wishing it had it, I guess I should go ahead and let everyone know... it does!

That being said, both options are good, the BMS gauge for a more mobile solution, hide or remove in seconds... and the RiXeffects gauge for an integrated solution. I will push sales for both units, and will offer gauge/jb3 combo deals in the future(christmas?) as well, with both gauges as options.

Its all good

Props to BMS and Russ for making another product to compliment the BMS lineup of great products.
