Almost every Bimmer has rattles somewhere, especially those with a sporty suspension, wherein interior pieces are prone to harsher effects in daily driving that ultimately result in rattles galore. Inspect the pieces and isolate the source. Many rattles can be cured by simply pressing on the plastic pieces surrounding them. Try out and see what you can do.

I only have 2000 miles on it... The rattle under certain acceleration is more like an angry hornet or horsefly in my car, does that change things? Should I check it out anyhow? New to these turbo bimmers |

BMW uses, either, loc-tite, or paint to keep all their nuts and bolts in place. This is also how they tell if someone has been playing in the car. Granted, the dealers don't reapply this stuff to the offending nut, but they have a tendency to come loose if you're not careful to tighten JUST RIGHT. too tight, and the plastic stretches, causing the nut to come loose; too loose and it just keeps coming off.

I've learned to live with it but next time I go to the dealer I'll have them take another look. |
