Comfort Access is dangerous.
I parked at my office today, and due to the construction noise, forgot to turn off my car ( NEVER done this before). I didn't realize what happened till I came back from a meeting and lunch....saw my angel eyes on from a block away and went NO...IT CAN'T BE!
I left with my key in pocket for over 30 minutes, and went as far as 1/8 mile away and my car stayed on the entire time- unlocked. This isn't good... |

I'm not seeing how this is any fault of the comfort access. You forgot to push the stop button and you forgot to lock the doors. Do you not have to do any of these things with comfort access?

You really can't blame CA on that. New to CA, I take it?

yeah usually you suppose to have a habbit of pushing the button and as soon as you step out simultaneously touching the the C/A edges as soon as you close the door im use to this movement.

I actually press Start Stop twice to completely shut the car off and then touch the door when it's closed.

i do think the car should shut off if it's not moving if the key isn't present (cause if it's moving that could be very very bad)

You do know that the car can be shut off when it's moving, too, right?

What's the big deal? The car can't be driven when the key is not within the vehicle cabin. So even when the car is on and with the engine running, it's not going ANYWHERE.

100% incorrect. The car can be driven whether the key is in the cabin or not with CA (or even without CA, if you know how to start the car without the fob in the slot). As long as the car is running, it can be driven, regardless of where the key is.

i leave the car on numerous time (locked) and take the key with me (of course). its one of my favorite features! especially when you know your jumping in and out of a gas station convenience store, etc... plus...if you illegally park...people do not tow you as they think someone is in the car hahaha

it's the same as leaving your key in the car w/ the engine on. you obviously didn't have the key in to begin with otherwise you would've turned off the motor in order to take out the key. just be glad nothing bad happened.

That's for repeating what I already posted. Helps to read the whole thread instead of skimming.
