We'll need to know under what condition it was triggered? Start-up? During cruise? Under boost? Etc,...

And if you lost a lot of power (no boost mode) when it was triggered.

nope, just put the tune in it was the FIRST full WOT. Right after i let go or maybe even during the accel. but im pretty sure it was when i let go of the throttle the light came on.
is that a limp mode? i run 93 octane.

thanks

It would help to know what tune you installed and what configuration the vacuum lines were in. And if it is repeatable or a one-time only thing (which is probably hard to say since you just installed the tune).

Try and reproduce it, if you cant then the limp was due to adaptation. What tune you have makes no difference in this matter. Now if you limp again then what kind of tune matters, that way you can get in touch with the tuner themselves, not this forum.

i tryed to make it come up again after i restarted the car and the light was gone and did a bunch of WOT runs and couldnt get it to do it. its running strong since.

In terms of troubleshooting, it does matter what tune he is running. If it was a JB1 or SSTT which only attenuate the TMAP sensor, there are only so many tune-related codes that could be thrown. If on the other hand, it was a JB3 or a V3 which adjusts fuel, timing, wgate duty cycle and boost, there are a lot possibilities.

Thanks for the PM. But you still didn't tell me what you are running. You just told me that it's not a PROcede. If you want my help, you'll need to give the info i'm asking for

hahaha your bad shiv, you are bad bmw is after me aswell op.
sounds like a adaption issue here. And the light you saw is a limp mode from what i heard. I agree with shiv without knowing the tune its hard to determine if anything else plays a factor here or any other mods.

Not trying to be bad here. But as I see it, a person with a tune related problem (which this is) has two options:

1) To contact the tuner
2) To post online

The first one is easy enough since all the info between the parties will be disclosed. The second one requires full disclosure or else we're just going to throw out suggestions which may ultimately be unhelpful.

That said, I'm a big believer to contacting the tuner first to let them take a first stab at troubleshooting. And that is what the OP should do, IMHO.

thanks for the help from shiv and others. the conclusion we made is that my car wasnt adapted and i might have pushed too hard and got a limp mode.

so half filled, half empty yellow icon of a engine i suppose is in fact a limp mode.

our conclusion is based on that after 50-100 miles and multiple WOT we were not able to recreate the limp.

if you didnt read the thread the limp happened on the first or second WOT we did, with the tune installed.
so adapting of the tune was the issue here.
