washing car unlocked doors

When rinsing the car this afternoon the doors unlocked and locked repeatedly when the door handle was sprayed. I think I have got the crumpet pack or something where you do not need to take the key out of your pocket.

I had the key in my pocket but I was at least 3 feet away from the car.

Is this normal?

I suppose if you were so inclined you have the key in your pocket and open the car by pissing on the handle from several feet away. A party trick that may impress some ladies.

Not very nice ladies though...

You only think you have comfort access (aka crumpet pack)?? Not one for gadgets then?

I've got it and it does lock / unlock repeatedly as you say when washing the door handle area, the CA works when the key is within a meter or so of the car.

The water must make the touch sensor on the handle think its being 'touched'.

Which makes you wonder what would happen if you were driving through a torrential rain storm,... would the doors lock/unlock themselves or is it clever enough to know you're in the vehicle and to leave the locks untouched...

Jeez I made a mistake not speccing this crumpet pack. Sounds like endless hours of pleasure could be had. How much is it again and what does the packet of crumpet cost?

It has to be ordered from the factory and cannot be retrofitted.

Are you sure your not just bending over or accidentally pressing the button whilst in your pocket? It does happen.

Yes, it happens frequently to cars with CA. Everytime I wash (power spray bay) my car and the key is on me, the car wakes up and the sleeps frequently. Very weird!?!
