Perfect e92 on the lot but no deal on the price...Help!

Back story:

This will be my girlfriend's 3rd BMW from this dealership, she will be trading in her '01 330ci that cost $43,900 when new, and we drove 2 hours last night to trade it in and buy her 335. They offered 12k for her trade, and the remaining amount was 36194.50 w/ no break off of MSRP with + $200 doc +150 floor mats.

There are currently 6 335i's in a 200 mile radius and I've found the one my girlfriend wants:

a52 space gray
LCSW Black Dakota leather
ZCW Cold Weather
ZPP Premium package
ZSP Sport package
205 Steptronic auto
2XA paddle shifters
322 Comfort Access
4AB Comfort Access

Sticker = $47, 845

now the other Local dealership offered 700 off MSRP and 12,500 in trade buyt they don't have the car she wants.

Should I reccomend that she buy this car when I think that a 3x customer should receive a better deal?

it's brand new so not much flux in price. maybe if she wanted something that isn't as new of a model, maybe they would give her more of a price break due to the fact that she has bought 3 cars there. At least see if they can throw in the floor mats.

It's also in Tulsa Oklahoma, and i have been to 3 dealerships and seen all of the delivered 335's over the passed 7-10 days and not one of them has been sold yet.

Are there a ton of miles on the '01? Those trade offers seem horrible.

I would not yet expect dealers to be falling all over themselves to discount 335's yet.

Wow...12k for an '01 330ci?

Are they giving it to you with lubrication, or without?

Those trade numbers sound horrible? What gives? Have you considered taking the trade to Carmax and pocketing the money and taking the trade out of the equation on the new purchase. I have a 335 sedan on a ship right now and the dealers in DC will come down at least 1000 - 1500 off MSRP right now without a fight.

yeah, it's got high mileage, just turned over 95K. The dealership depreciated it $1500 because the SRS and the CEL are both on.

IF there was a carmax I'd be there in a hurry!

From what I understand, it takes roughly 1-2 months (including transit) to get a car you order today to your driveway.

My suggestion is to order the car, exactly as she wants it, from one of the dealers willing to negotiate.

One other thing to consider. It's also my understanding that you can order your car from any U.S. dealership you want and request delivery at the performance center in Spartanburg, SC. That's roughly 850 miles from you. If you've got the vacation time and the inclination, you could probably get a great price from one of the California BMW dealers (I've heard invoice + $500 thrown around here), and make a very nice weekend (or just a long day) of collecting your new car.

Just a thought.

Thanks to this post, I discovered CarMax. I hadn't heard of them until now. Bottom line, I took my E90 to them today for an appraisal. The facility wasn't at all like I expected. Very, very nice. And you deal with just one person throughout the process, and the best part was the appraisal. I got just what I wanted. The deal is good for 7 days or 300 miles; so I get to make arrangements, see if I can get a better deal, etc.

Thank you for recommending them. It truly made my day!

Well, they gave her 13k for the car, and she bought the e92.

Must say I love the car. It feels almost as fast as my Jetta.

Thanks for the help guys!

Schweitzer congrats on teh carmax experience.
