DIY : New Method To Remove Sun Visor Decals (Chemical Free)
I came across the other two threads on removing the sun visor decals, but didn't want to use goo-off/similar products or even denatured alcohol. I tried two different methods.
In my first attempt I tried to use duck tape to "rip" it off on my passenger side visor, but that just left small little specs of sticker and the material became loose and fuzzy... so now I need a new visor... It worked on my Mercedes a couple years ago... On my second attempt I used a steamer! The kind you use to unwrinkled cloths and the decal became "soft" and was easy to remove. It does take a couple minutes but sure enough it came out flawless! The best part is that it doest smell!

I must have a crappy steamer because it's very difficult to heat up the label with the visor attached and the steamer inverted. Does a blow dryer also work? |

It might but I would think that you would need the moisture from the steam along with the heat for this to work, its like opening a letter with a tea kettle so you can read it without someone knowing it was opened.

Exactly like a letter. I actually don't think a hair dryer would work at all, otherwise these things would be peeling off on their own when flipped out and parked in the sun on a hot day.

Has anyone besides OP succeeded with this w/o taking off the visor? OP, how old long have you had your car (I'm wondering if 4 months would make it difficult) |
