Didn't realize they had grills. That's a boss idea. How bad were the cops?

Great idea to go west, but.......Skyline and the Blue Ridge Parkway aren't that great for "spirited" driving. Smokey don't play on either one of those roads: they will pull over large groups and ticket everyone!
The back roads AROUND the BRPW/Skyline are pretty cool. And there are a couple of nice breweries, too (Devil's Backbone and Blue Mountain??) Both very close to Wintergreen Ski Resort. And if vino is your thing (or you enjoy working the ladies at bridal showers) there are TONS of vineyards in that area.
Have you seen RTE 250 to Monterey? goes over 3 mountain passes and is very twisty. There are also some nice roads heading south from there towards Hot Springs.

I think we should do a Blue Ridge Mtn cruise, hit one of the breweries Renn posted, and check out some of the roads local to that area. What does everyone think about early May as a prospective date? Also route suggestions, google maps would work well

EDIT:

We could do the Weekend of April 28, or May 12th.

I'd definitely be in for that too. Where's the thread? We could always put off the cruise until June if people like the Eurofest idea.

It's a LOT more complicated than the general stuff I do for most people.

I've got 2 more guys to meet up with before Sunday even. This stuff has me BUSY! Haha

Haha, but yes I hadn't even looked until you mentioned it. I'm not really going up for anything but coding... so I could see why people wouldn't want to waste a trip.

I'm not sure why this event wasn't plastered all over the boards. I heard about it through the G35 crew
Not sure, I avoid it whenever possible. If it was sunny I'd definitely go with you, but I don't really want to drive 2 hrs in the rain.

My car is currently at Richmond BMW for the inspection and my issue with the ignition coil. Everything covered by CPO if something is wrong. Got a 2012 528 as the loaner, the 4 actually isn't terrible. Stop start is pretty cool at lights.

I guess I forgot the new 5 series has an entirely turbo engine line-up. Only a 2.0 in a car that large is unbelievable. It just goes to show you that paired with the right transmission, size isn't everything.
The car threw a code and pretty clearly lost an ignition coil for a few miles before it started working again. Hopefully the computer says I need everything replaced. The 5 is actually pretty quick - transmission and turbo help. Nowhere close to as smooth as the I6 though. I can't imagine spending that much on a car to have an engine like that.
