May have missed a post but why code the key fobs? To open the windows whilst opening your car just keep finger on open... Same goes for locking.. All windows open, shut door, keep finger on lock and all windows go up..Simples

In U.S. we are not able to Auto Close the windows or the sunroof for liability reasons (someone must have closed their kid's or dog's head in the window at some point) From factory only Auto Down/Open is enabled with fob - to enable full function it's a simple matter of changing a couple lines of code...

Having to keep your finger on the window up or down button as the door is opened sort of defeats the entire purpose of having express up and down windows doesn't it? It makes a lot more sense to change the interrupt coding and preserve the express up and down functionality.

When people ask me to code this for them I always warn them about that, especially the possibility that a passenger might do that before the owner has a chance to stop them. Most E92/93 owners end up deciding they'd rather not have that risk. I don't see a risk to doing it on an E90 though.

After some problems iam getting used to code with nsc expert again. Only problem is that i dont know the values for the options i want to code
I tried that codinghelp from the 5series forum but most of them dont work. Car was built 01/2008 -i want to use the inner lights for flash but how? atm only the xenons do it -coming home light without xenon but fog lights instead -welcome light with additional fog lights and for a longer time -flashing 3rd brake light when fully breaking -fold mirrors with key -parking light on till lock -no a/c on auto -wipers wipe to end after ignition off Is it possible to activate voice command via coding? |

Anyone have like step by step or some sort of instructions on how to code Front & rear PDC. I know I have to add the VO$508 but to what module and then after I add the VO what modules or is it only adding the VO.....
Thanks in advance

I thought front and rear PDC each had their separate VO codes for countries (like ours) where some cars are only available with rear? In any case, PDC is an entirely separate module unto itself, so I think you'd have to run the Process Car command while you have a blank MAN file to get it to recognize the new module. That WILL wipe out any custom coding you've done, so hopefully you've been keeping a list of the changes you've made so you can reimplement them quickly.
Also, make sure to write the new VO to both CAS and FRM/NFRM.

508 = Full [Front & Rear] If you're moving from Rear to Full then you would remove 507 & add 508. You only need to code the defaults to CIC/CCC and PDC if transitioning from 507 to 508.

It's not missing any of the options. Someone enabled a filter on the 'Module' column that has hidden a lot of the rows. If you disable this filter, everything will show back up again.

Read Post #1, including watching the video and checking out the spreadsheet.

The short answer is you are changing predefined parameters of a vehicle's electronic control modules to alter its behavior, as in to add, change, or remove features or functionality. Generally speaking, the logic exists already within the ECU, and it is just a matter of enabling or disabling a function, or changing a function's parameter, like frequency, duration, etc.

Actual codes? On a single ECU like for the Head Unit, it's hundreds, but how many will be of actual interest is probably no more than a handful. Some ECU's while codeable, you will likely have no interest in at all.

First, thanks for the how to! I never would have been able to make heads or tails of NCSExpert without it. I have a 2006 325Xi wagon.
I have successfully changed/added the common stuff... digital speedo, nanny options disabled, etc. Useful stuff turned on. There was that moment of panic when most of my cluster was inop. Back to E90post... ah! I need new datum files...Overnight torrent and a few minutes of moving files around before having a conversation with my car and I have a fully functional cluster again. For future reference, the cruise control doesn't work when the cluster is... having issues. I am stuck with express open not working on my front windows only. express close works as it should and the rear windows work as they should. I horked something but will be dipped if I can figure it out. Can someone point me at the correct module and what I need to change to fix it? |
