Strange noises ... any idea?

Ok, so my car has developed a clunking noise when changing from 2nd to 3rd gear and also a slight whiring noise around 25mph in 3rd gear ... looks like another trip to the dealer!

Out of interest, does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Car is a manual 330i m sport.
