Hi,

Selling my Tag Heuer Carrera Chrono CV2010.

Comes with original boxe and paperwork (manual, guarantee card etc)

Has been my daily wearer, so there are some light scratch marks on the clasp and bracelet. Otherwise the watch is immaculate.

Looking to sell in order to try something different.

Cheers Mega! Truthfully, I'd rather not sell it, but I would like the cash to fund something else. I always disassemble the watch for cleaning, to make sure all the nukes and cranny's are cleaned and theres no build up.

Hopefully I'll get my asking price, if not... slightly less!

I think your asking price is extremely optimistic (being polite).

I think 600 is about on the mark for a secondhand, scratched daily wearer.

Happy to take it off your hands for 600 now.

The fact that several jewellers in the Edinburgh and Lothian region have told me that they will resell this watch for £1300-1500 in this condition means I'll surely get £1000. They also sell for this on eBay frequently, I just want to avoid eBay if I can.

I suppose you will have asked the dealers who would resell it for £1350 how much they would offer you? It's also worth noting, it might go up for £1350, but it won't sell for that... Think about the price they have offerred you and then add 20-30% - that is what they would take in the current climate.

I think £600 is a pisstake offer by a chancer (no offence, you are what you are) but £1000-£1150 (on the other hand) is optimistic. Being sold by a dealer will attract more than just a £150 - £300 premium alone, simply because people are stupid enough to think it actually matters. Same with cars.

I would set the price higher than the dealers have offerred you, but I would definitely look to deal with someone at under a grand. £850 maybe? I can say that safe in the knowledge that I am NOT making a bid, because I am not in the market for a watch, nice as it is.

I think that's a very fair statement mate, thanks.

I'm aiming for the £1000 mark as WatchFinder.co.uk has offered £930 for the watch in its current state (as well as one or two jewellers who came in at £900). As they will resell this watch at a higher price, I thought £1000 would be a fairly reasonable price. They also sell for that on eBay most of the time.

Providing I don't get any offers on here, the watch will go on eBay tonight. One of the jewellers who I go to for watches recommended a private sale with a target of ~£1000. Guess I just want to avoid the jewellers making money on it due to the laziness of not privately selling.

I'm sure someone somewhere will think it's a reasonable price considering its condition. Open to reasonable offers from members on here though!

No worries mate.

On that basis, I would say £930 should be your asking price here (and elsewhere where you deal with real humans) whilst on eBay you want a reserve (or a target price at least) of £1000 because fees will easily account for in the 30, 40, 50 quid region for a watch finishing at that amount, including Paypal payment and depending on whether you choose a reserve etc.

To be honest, I would probably be tempted to take £930 without bothering with eBay and that is gospel. Don't worry about what they then make on it, if the eBay deal or people buying privately doesn't stack up, then go with what gets you the most money and remember that the mark up they make is you doing your bit for the economy

If £1k is your aim, and they have offered £930, I would prob take that - no muppets on ebay, no chancers, no robbers etc

I sold my Tag Link on Ebay and got £950 for it so £1000 is not far off. I think if someone had offered me £930 without going through all the ebay crap I would have done it.

I think you will get £900 - £1000 on ebay it will just depend if catch it at the right time
