Drive safe. I don't want to see a thread about how the JB4 caused some mishap.

Does JB4 add more performance than the COBB tuner, or are they about the same?
I have JB4 (never installed) but I'm about to buy the extended warranty for my car and I've heard the COBB is much easier to remove and is undetectable once you remove it, where the JB4 takes a while to remove and the dealer can still tell. Can anyone clarify this? Not trying to hijack but I figured since you just bought JB4 maybe you've done some good research on this. |

It would be pretty hard to tell you had a jb4 installed once removed. Though it could be questioned if a tech started looking for missing paint on the bolts and such. But even then, would be hard to prove the a jb4 install/uninstall was the cause of said scratched bolt paint. I've read on the forums that if bmw really wanted to, the could tell (by reading the dme) if the car had hit boost levels above stock levels. Guess that would be a dead give away (and tune independent). Not sure if this is true or not though. JB4 is definite bang for the buck champion. That said, i am thinking of getting rid of mine and going with Cobb. I just like the idea of a flash tune, better than a piggy back. Of course now bms has the g5 board and supporting flash tune (using a cobb unit). |

Both are great tunes. If you already have the JB4 I would just upgrade to the G5 ISO board if you don't already have it and stick with that. Mike |
