Wrong. I bought my 328 because I didn't want to be stranded by the highway on my daily commute. I bought my Cayman so I would have a proper performance car for the weekend.

Otherwise I'd have to always be banging out a turn at high speed or always slam on your brakes to feel like I got my moneys worth out of a Cayman. |

2012 335is. 23000 miles . Just replaced the fuel injectors. I thought it was the HPFP issue because I had some long cranks in the morning and it was idling rough. Smelled gas in the garage also. Asked my BMW service adviser about the HPFP issue because I am obviously concerned with this n54 engine. He looked at his computer and told me the 335is HPFP's are NOT covered under the 120,000 mile warranty like all other 335's. I could not believe this when I heard it!! Best BMW I have ever owned. But would not keep this car without a warranty. No way. What a shame.

BMW claims that the HPFP design has been changed.

Got some bad news my 2011 335is with 27,000 miles went limp mode on me last night. I was waiting to make a left turn after on-coming traffic cleared, I made the turn and hit the gas pedal to accelerate up to speed but the car went limp mode instead. "Engine Malfunction - Reduced Power" something along those lines are what I saw on my iDrive display. I pulled over, turned off the car, and started it back up after a couple minutes but it was still giving the same warning message and it was idling very rough. Called the dealership and have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8. Hoping nothing to major but I'll keep you just updated. Starting to have second thoughts now if I want to keep the 335is after it's warranty period is over.

Just got the call back from the dealership's service department and they are replacing the HPFP under warranty and re-tuning the ECU. I already miss her, I got stuck with a 320i for loaner which is not bad for commuter but not for me. Keeping my fingers crossed that she will be ready by the end of the day.

Well I was hoping to get my car back by 6pm but my service advisor just called me a little before 5pm saying they would like to keep my car in the shop for the night to run some more test. Hoping to see my 335is tomorrow and I'll give another update as to what the old HPFP part number was and the new one they replaced it with if the information is available on my invoice.
