iDrive Firmware Version Check
What is the process for checking the current iDrive Firmware version? It is not a problem to find the current NAV map version however the iDrive version remains elusive.
I would like to cross check the firmware version and some issues I am experiencing with the iDrive Firmware history and see if I can have the dealer update the system. Thanks all. |

From Bimmerforums:
"Hi, This process can get you into a special menu which contains additional ECU information: 0. Insert Key FOB into slot (do not start the car, just wait for the iDrive system come on) 1. Push down i-Drive knob for approx 8 sec 2. Turn right 3 clicks 3. Turn left 3 clicks 4. Turn right 1 click 5. Turn left 1 click 6. Turn right 1 click 7. Push down i-Drive knob *** Be paitent after step 7, it took my car a good five seconds to pull up the data. HTH" |

You won't find your current i level through the menu, but this is how to open the menu in CIC.
The procedure for starting the Service menu with the "safe grip" has changed compared to the CCC system: • Call up Start menu • Push controller in up direction for at least 10 s • Controller 3 notches to the right • Controller 3 notches to the left • Controller 1 notch to the right • Controller 1 notch to the left • Controller 1 notch to the right • Press controller once • The Service menu is now added as the last submenu to "Settings" Four selection menus are available in the Service menu of the CIC: • Navigation • Telephone and BMW Service • TV (Not for US) • Gracenote

Anyone figures out the CCC idrive secret menu yet? Pushing down the control knob for 8 seconds etc doesn't work for me.

BimmerTech customers can email us with their VIN and we will tell them their current car integration level (car software version).
If you are not our customer you need to check it with your dealer or use a coding cable to read this info from the car. |
