It's not the trim itself, it's something underneath there that's loose. I had mine fixed like 2 years ago for free under warranty but I can't remember exactly what it was for the life of me.

For everyone that has squeaking doors when the windows are up all you have to do is clean then really well with WD-40 no humming-pledge. It's been two months and no squeak from any of the four doors.

Outrageous findings for a ~ 50k car. Compared to my previous Infiniti G35x- the quality of built/finish of the Bimmer is definitely inferior !!
BP
I can promise you that the build quality of the g35 was not better than the bimmer. thats foolish. The materials alone in th ebimmer are nicer.

Iv got an 09 335i xdrive 60000 miles, not a single rattle or noise. cabin is silent when i drive.

No rattles, which is nice because the 911 I traded in for it had rattles all over the place. At first you can ignore them but after awhile they really start to grate on you.

I have 3 that Ive tracked down so far. The button at the end of the cruise control stalk will rattle, SA said he heard of that one before. My driver side door lock, the little black thing that pops up and and down. And my rear view mirror. My SA is cool and working with me but had to open a puma case I guess because they have to replace the entire cc stalk, can't just order a new button. Tech couldn't replicate rear view mirror rattle, so I'll have to bring it in one day when it is rattling. They lubricated the door lock, haven't head that rattle since but I did have one weird issue when going to unlock my doors one day.

I have comfort access so I grab the handle to unlock the door and i hear a low toned beep, not sure if it was from the door or what. Car unlocked fine. Lock the door and then 2 min later come back to the car, grab the handle to unlock car and the door locks start freaking out sounded like their locking and unlocking really fast or perhaps jammed for a good 2-3 seconds. After that the car was unlocked and it hasn't happened since.

It is not about the build quality, it is about the design quality.

Making the car's interior from several different materials with different thermal expansion coefficients, which should work as a whole under different temperatures, is not an easy task. And this task should be addressed very early, at the design stage. Trying to fix bad design at build stage is a completely hopeless endeavor.

Infiniti is not only better than BMW in that department, it is incomparably better. (Although practice shows that virtually any Japanese brand is better than any German brand when it comes to designing non-rattling interiors.)

And no, materials in BMW are not nicer. They are pretty much the same quality-wise. I don't like some weird color choices Infiniti often makes, but their materials are exceptionally good.

90k miles and not a single squeak or rattle at all, plus everything still works flawlessly on my car.

When it is cold I get a rattle from the center dash speaker grill. Other than that, all is quiet.

Rumor has it that those with aluminum trim rattle a bit.

Here are mine:

1. Sounds like near the passenger side air vent in the front.

2. Rattle just above the AC digital display. If you put a single finger on the black plastic molding it goes away

3. Intermittent rattle from the steering column

4. Squeaking from rubber door seals with shadow line trim there is a SB on this, and has been fixed for me

WTH i have this rattle too but i have never had my windshield replaced?

So far zero at 7500 miles. My 2008 E90 didn't have any even at 25000.
