Wow, fantastic writeup and pics. Those of us who are raised on the West Coast just don't get to see the historic places that are all over the Eastern seaboard out here. It's definitely something my wife and I want to do in the future. Thanks for sharing.

Really enjoyed the photos and the commentary. We go to that area periodically, either to visit the immediate area or to travel through the area to Cumberland / Bedford Springs.

We've seen a few of the sights you've photographed, but you've opened up a whole new world of locations and roads we have not visited!

Thanks
Bruce

Those 2 hikers are the best part of the photos. I admire them for hiking the Appalachian trail. There any many people who attempt to do this every year and don't make it. They even started in Georgia (my home state) which is the most treacherous part of the trail. Some people skip Georgia because of this.

This place looks like one of those places you see in scary movies. And you say to yourself. Wtf. Are you doing in a place like this in the first place.

With that being said. What camera and lenses did you use ? The pics are gorgeous.

I don't do that much scenery photography anymore, as I concentrate on cars, which you can find on my blog.

I have some old photos here. but it's a mixed bag, so lots of cars, travel, useless crap, and even screen shots. That site is a bit old, but they refuse to update the layout and give better options to organize and browse.

Dave,

Mad Maps are great! I had a lot of them on my Garmin Zumo, but I recently gave this GPS to a friend who is now using it on his Victory Vision. I exported a number of them first, however.

Regarding my Tennessee-North Carolina trip, before I had a chance to write it up I did a tour of the Catskills Mountains resort area in New York, on my way to Cape Cod. Plus, I stopped by Thompson Motor Speedway and F40 Motorsports in Connecticut on my way back, so now I have three full reports to do!

I hope all is well in Canada.

Downeaster,

Yep, that's where I bought it! I've now got 7,000 miles on it, and it's been great. Of course, I'm still learning all of the functions available through the iDrive… That process may take another year or so!
