LCI Paddle Steering Wheel with M4 Paddles

Hi guys,

I bought a steering wheel with M4 paddle shifters from the internet and want to get this steering wheel working on my car (E90 LCI).

The steering wheel was previously installed on an E90 Pre-LCI and is supposed to have worked.

Now I have re-soldered the paddles, from the steering wheel to the shift selector lever I have laid cables according to the following German instructions:

https://www.3er-faq.de/e90/anleitung...chliessen.html

and the paddles still don't work. Normally I do not have to code anything, right? Because not about junction box.

Attached pictures for better illustration

Best regards from Germany,

Volkan

Pre-LCI and LCI paddles are wired differently. Look up a conversion video Pre-LCI to LCI on YouTube and do the opposite.

I'd always considered doing this. Just wasn't sure how it'd look. I think it's not half bad!

Paddles are from a M4. They are same like LCI Paddles because they come from the F-Models… F-Model Paddles also works in E-Model LCI Vehicles… i think the wireing is correct… or do you see a fault? If they are LCI Paddles..?

Right but you said that it was previously installed on a Pre-LCI, which is wired different than LCI. So you'd need to wire the actual paddle shifters themselves back like an LCI.

I have found my mistake. The paddles are soldered incorrectly. If you connect the paddles directly from the steering wheel to the gearbox, then you must solder both as follows:

Blue = Bridge
Yellow = desolder resistor

If you connect the paddles via the junction box to the gearbox, then you leave the paddles original.
