Sounds like BS to me. How can a BMW dealership not have any loaner vehicles?

I'm guessing it depends on the dealership whether or not you'll get a loaner because at BMW Autohaus they wanted to charge me for a loaner
Normal. They only.have a finite number of loaners.

Yes I totally understand. I'm not disappointed.

Without diverting too much from the op topic...

I will be updating this thread after the recall is complete and let you guys know of any performance changes I notice (if any)

I haven't received one yet so, I called my dealer to see if I was going to. I found out we had a June build date and no active campaign regarding this. So, now it's just going in to get get a rattle form the rear sunshade and autowipers that don't stop after being triggered by rain looked at.

Had the recall done since Wednesday, drove a lot on highway and streets, no apparent change in power or consumption. Car drives like it did before

Dropped my 2010 off for the recall this morning. No loaners available. Got shuttled over to Enterprise, and given a new Ford Explorer.

I didn't even know they still made these things. Huge, soft, no road feel. 2WD. Terrible MS Sync interface. Ugh.

^ How long did it take? I'm taking mine in this Monday, June 18th.

I wonder what crappy loaner they'll give me.

So on May 23rd, I had this exchange with the Service Manager about my appointment being scheduled for June 18th:

I will book an appointment with you guys but could you please first ensure that you have the necessary parts on hand. This avoids my car sitting there for longer time than is needed.

Thank you.

His reply: "The parts are in stock."

Let's fast forward to today and here's the email I just received:

Good afternoon,

We have just received notice from BMW that the parts needed for the recall on your vehicle is on backorder in Germany. Therefore we would not be able to perform the recall for you on Monday. Would you please kindly contact us via email or phone to reschedule your appointment for Monday. The part is on back order until after July 1st, 2012.

Thank you for your time, and sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Cheers

Unreal guys. I knew this shit would happen.

I dropped my car off on Tues morning. Got it back Friday afternoon. Major issues with the re-programming. They finally used a different programming station, and it took. Not a happy camper.

I'll just rip their loaner to shreds if this happens to me.

Post Recall

Hello all... I am have recently bought a 2011 335d with 13,xxx miles on it. I took it to the dealer for a broken headlight washer and side skirt clips. They also performed the recall that you mention here. Since I have only own the car for 6 weeks I didn't receive a letter in the mail. Anyway when I got the car back I have noticed the shift points are different and DS seems to be very similar if not the same as D. I have also notice that the electronic MPG read out is about 50% of what it said prior to the service. I am going to perform my own test this weekend to make sure. I called the dealer to ask if this is normal, they told me the car had to learn my driving habits before the MPG readout would be correct (is this true not sure). As for the dial instant MPG every time I push the accelerator it just goes all the way to the right 12 MPG and when I brake the dial goes from 50 toward 12 (is this normal). Has anyone else experienced this? Unfortunately I don't think 6 weeks is enough time to really understand the car and all of its intricacies. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

I just got back from the dealer and my car doesn't have open recalls. For some reason I got letter with the wrong VIN number. My car is 5/11 production and has the latest parts and software.

UK affected? 330d's affected? Not that it's any longer a concern of mine!

No doubt my first year car and first year engine will be recalled for something sooner or later! It's already had a very brief misfire! http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=709748
But I am SERIOUSLY loving it though!!! Totally different beast from the 330d! Miss that though
But so happy!

Mine had a build date of 6/15, and the dealership said there weren't any open recalls on it as of yesterday. But, it's in the shop for an SES light so I guess we'll see.

Mine goes in tomorrow morning for the SIB as well as whatever maintenance is due. Additionally, I've been hearing some squeaking under light braking...dunno if they are finally due (I'm hoping, as my rotors are warped, and I've been putting out on swapping them out for far too long).

Side note: Anyone have any problems with their sunroof not wanting to close under auto (push forward and let it close by itself)? I've had to reset mine numerous times as of late, even though there are no obstructions. Haven't been able to figure out what's causing it, and a reset of the sunroof always fixes it.

Ron1n, did you get any more pics of the EGR? There's a thread in the UK section about the EGR, and we're trying to get pics of our EGR to compare to the UK EGR.
