Something is very wrong there.

Firstly make sure the mpg is set to imperial and not US gallons.

Then check the temperature of the car, should be sat at 90ºc and should get there in 5 minutes or 3 miles on yours really, maybe a smidge long this time of year.

You need to sear google for e90 temperature as it is in the hidden menu.

Couldn't find where the hidden menu, I have an oil temp gauge on the car anyway. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to 90-100 degrees. Making sure mpg is imperial was one of the first things I done.

I would get on a nice a road sit at 50mph and reset it, see what you get when you are cruising along.

Well you have to work out if it is your driving or the car.

Many who live in London see 26mpg from a 320d.

But you should see 30-35mpg sat at a very steady 50mph.

Right, my car is on 171k, E91, just me in it with equipment in the back.

Drove to the petrol station, filled up and straight on to the motorway.

91 miles travelled, 70mph average speed, 53mpg.

That's with the engine already warmed up, and I took that reading as I came off the M5. No way you'd get higher than that, for me at least. Cruise set to 2k in 6th.

Shell regular diesel.

E92 - 330i SE
Best Average: 41mpg long trip to the Lake District and back driving like a saint!
Worst Average (current): 16mpg - driving the car between 5-10 miles daily.
The current mpg is so poor that I am thinking of changing the E92 for an E39 M5 since my best mate's dad gets better mpg out of his E39 M5 on a very similar journey!

Had my 330d LCI a week now, averaging an indicated 42mpg overall. Haven't filled her back up yet to work out the true calculated average.

Was very impressed yesterday though, did a 188 mile round trip for work. Reset before I left my drive and when I got home in the evening, the journey computer was showing 52.3mpg!

hate to rub it in but I just filled up any my average is 42.4mpg in my 2007 330d tourer manual.

That is a mix of motorway driving country roads and a few town trips. I live in a village 9 miles from my nearest shell. Filled up today and drove about a mile in 30 limits then into a 60 limit. Stuck to the speed limits just to see what the car showed.......62mpg when I got home. I love love LOVE my car and pray to god, budda, zeus and any of the others that it lasts a long time!

The guy down the road from me has swapping his LCI 535d for a 550i and he has gone from 33mpg average on the 535d to 29mpg on the 550i, so in real terms it is costing him no more to fill up, he is over the moon with it.
400bhp and a V8 growl.

I am definitely going petrol next time.

I bought an old 2.8i Z3 recently as a bit of a project and found out is has an OBC last week, seems that since its last reset, which must have been 6 tanks full of fuel, but could be over 1000s of miles, it is showing 35.7mpg.

I am done with diesel, I always buy them, but I have to feather them to get decent economy. Also having the straight six petrol again has made me re-find my love of cars.

Mine has suffered slightly because I have switched to Michellin Pilot Sport ZP (run flats) which are probably the heaviest run flat I have come across. On top of this my spark plugs are due on the CBS in 4k miles anyway. Currently mileage being 56k.

So I am mid 30's on the motor way where I was high 30's and low 40's before
Urban is 12-20mpg (lots of hill climbs on the way to work)

After only owning the car a week i took it on a 500 mile round trip yesterday. a bit round town, a bit at 70 with the odd foot down to overtake and a few 50mph average camera areas.

e91 - 330D - Auto 2006 43.4MPG

I dont think thats terrible for a car with that performance. was absolutely lovely to drive even on a long drive like that.

Quite similar to what I get, just shy over 500 per tank (Nitro). That's probably 80% motorway driving (albeit with a slightly heavy foot) . Stats say 35.7 mpg average. Increase of about 3mpg after a remap.
