Arghh! This is killing me!

My AW 335i E90 arrived at the dealer today finally, but they won't give it to me until Tuesday. And it would be such a nice weekend for driving it!

I stupidly left the macro mode switched on in my cell phone, but here's a blurry pic anyway from the dealer's lot.

Same @#$(*@# here. Bought a new Honda for my daughter a couple months ago. it was right off the truck, still in the plastic wrappers. They had it prepped in 3 hours.

Especially infuriating because they supposedly prep BMWs at the VDC at the pier also.

Car looks sweet--even in macro mode!

if the car is at the dealership... and they have almost a full day... you should be able to nudge them... I mean how many times must the car be checked... 1ce at the factory , 1ce at the docks and 1ce at the dealer... a PDI doesnt take that long ??? 1-2 hrs tops ??? and a new car prep takes 2-3 hrs. I'd talk to the sales mgr... asst gm or someone.

I've been dealing with the sales manager. They said they were going to do it today if they could but they could not promise it. I guess they had a lot of cars ahead of mine. I'll survive

Thats fair... its all you can try for.

I'd be like please introduce me to the service mgr... $50 or $100 wrapped in handshake.

hi mr service mgr... wonder if you have any time to do a PDI and prep on my new car, my sales advisor said it was tight....

not a problem mr. potty pants We'll be able to fit you intoday

then down the road you have somebody who will be more helpful in solving problems. i may not like how this works... but its the system.

My dealer already treats me well, and has very good service. I don't want to push them. I'm sure if they could have done it today they would have.

I guess this means I still have something to look forward to

They shouldn't be doing anything more than the mechanical inspection anyway, and that definitely DOES NOT take much time at all. Do your own new car detail and avoid the dealer-installed swirl marks (at no charge...)

Sorry to hear that Andre! Mine has been at the dealership since 4/12. (Beat you!). I did goto check it out. Picking it up on MONDAY! I could have had it on 4/13 or 4/14. But I had to go out of town. The weather here has been so bad and my CA was on vacation last week. I decided to wait until he returned to pick it up. Since I still do love my 04 S4, it was not really a hardship. Weather has finally broken. I figure that by Wed, I will have the mud flaps and painted side reflectors installed. Rear spoiler by Father's day. Pictures to follow

My Ca assured me that they do not use a orbital polisher on the paint. Said that they just wash the car.

They wouldn't use an orbital polisher unless something was already wrong. It's the car wash and care that they use (or lack of) during the prep that installs the swirls for you.

Anyone ordering a black car needs to read the detailing forum and the sticky on doing your own first detail. Of course, there are those out there who aren't that picky about the appearance, but they shouldn't be buying black cars anyway!

Good luck with your car. I hope it goes well for you.

Thankfully you clarified how you took that pic, I was about to call my eye doctor for an emergency appointment!

Look on the bright side, at least your car is at the dealer. Mine is still in production... the wait continues.
