Who told you that?
How could fitting a different nav system possibly invalidate your entire warranty? So if your fuel pump died (as mine did earlier this week) they would say "sorry m'am - you have a different iDrive system fitted, and this is why your fuel pump failed"? No. I have a Milltek exhaust on mine - and when i got the extended warranty on mine i asked the advisor if it was invalidate my warranty should i need to claim and the response she gave was "no, not at all, it would only prevent you claiming warranty on your exhaust system". Now, obviously, in a turbo car they could rightly try and claim that the non standard exhaust caused a number of parts to fail prematurely - which i accept - however i am yet to come across this and my car has been in for 2 lots of warranty work and nothing has ever been mentioned. Fitting a different nav system? Now that is tied in with nothing - and fitting a different nav system could not be linked to anything else failing on the car. All that would happen is that they wouldn't pay out if your new CIC iDrive failed for some reason. Some BMW dealers are massively against any sort of modifications whatsoever, regardless, and often the service advisors in these dealers don't have a clue about what the warranty will or will not cover. Some dealers are totally indifferent to modifications and i've read about many people have taken their heavily and obviously modified cars into a dealer for warranty work and nothing has even been mentioned. |

You live in London and dealer at Sheffield. What are we missing here?
Is there a space b/w your wheel liner and side skirt of NSF? Front of your car looks superb but back is okish. Would your car benefit from blacklines? Surely if you place biggest order to their parts department, then you deserve a bottle of wine from their profit / comission.

Looks lovely, never been sure of 313 on a E90 but your car looks fab
Don't wait too long getting the JB4 and downpipes fitted, they really do give the car an extra bit of urgency...Though I assume the JB4 unit will over ride the BMW performance tune?? |

If you're going meth...you need to speak to Marcel on here...and I think Idnan's got meth aswell....
common "bolt on" mods, ETS/ Forge intercooler, AR design downpipes, and a nice exhaust system should give you some serious power.... afe do some nice induction kits aswell.... shame, you haven't got a sister!?... :-( No sausage for me...i'm only into sushi! ;-) |

I would wait and get use to the car with the JB4/Intercooler/Downpipes before chasing more BHP with meth. I'm actually running on my car on the most conservative power map (map 1 on the JB4), with the more aggressive maps I find the car almost too quick for public roads, but than again I dont have any access to a M3/M5
If you have access to the funds get Brids BWM to fit a LSD, it really does help the car get all the extra BHP onto the road If your really worried about cooling AR Design also do an additional oil cooler, I asked Kevin Bird about getting one fitted but he advised not due to longterm maintanance issues..still am sure if you showed enough £££ they are not going to say no |

Hi Siren G
Welcome and nice car. Did the dealer fit the ppk ducting for extra airflow? I ask as I was told by my local dealer that these ducts replace the parts, incl fog lights on the m sport. Your car still has it's fog lights, hence my question. My touring has been fettled by Birds Garage. On their recommendation, i opted for catted dps. Going for catless, I would be concerned about complying with latest MOT regs, unless your tester doesnt check all cats are in place. Dave Last edited by Bee Pee; 09-30-2012 at 02:47 PM.. hi
it looks like you're right, they haven't fitted the lower grille that should come with the power kit. although the air ducting, auxillary radiator and bracketing are definitely present. the radiator will still get air flow but definitely less so than if the grille you would expect to be there were present. not sure how significant this is going to be. for reference here are diagrams for the power kit and front bumper:-

Some very nice mods there siren-g.
You could also go with a bmw/performance carbon fibre centre console - it works well with the performance shift selector - see below. |

Air ducts, MOT's and DP's
Siren G,
As its a BMW dealer who has done your install, this hints that the grilles and associated loss of foglights, may be overkill. I was never sure why 335i's needed these grilles given that the existing ones were perforated [unlike lesser models which are either completely or partially blanked off]. Trust the dealer didn't charge for these parts ! As far as MOT's are concerned, provided the car has been warmed up prior to its emissions test and also been given a good run a day or 2 before the MOT, then emissions levels should be OK with catless DP's on our cars. However, new MOT regs from mid this year onwards, require visual check that all cats are present, as per factory spec's. As ends of DP's are visible when viewed from underneath, its easy for a tester to sight if DP's still have the primary cats or not. It may be a reason to fail an MOT, despite a compliant emissions test. I went for catted hi-flo DP's on my e91 touring and it passed the MOT last week for the 2nd year without problems. These, combined with the BMW PE, make a good sound. Catless DP's c/w PE may lead to rasp/drone. Lots of threads on DP's v new MOT regs & DP's + PE so have search and see what you find out.
