OK, just got back with my car. Invoice as follows:

SIB 61 02 13 Checked Connection and Replaced Cable End As Per SIB. Intitialized Steering Angle Sensor. Set Time & Date. No Check Control Messages.

Basically, they cut off the end of the cable coming from battery at rear to fusebox, near the fusebox end.

Then crimped on Wire #61 12 9 312 133 which has a connection similar to old connection - but it also has a screw to hold the connector firmly to it's mating fusebox connector at all times.

Good question. Does the cowl have to come off for this to be done?

No, work is done from inside car, not underhood. They don't go anywhere near computer.

I have BMS Powerbox installed & didn't even turn it off...

the actual process probably takes 30 min or they'd have your car for over a week considering how many vehicles they have to do

Well, if it takes 30 min, why did they have my car all day from 8:30 to 4:30?

Because that's what they do. My dealer keeps my car all day for an oil change and I get a car for the day. Do I care when in the day they do it? Nope. If they get 10 of these recalls a day and everyone drops off at the same time, They will stager them through the day.

I have an appt for the recall next week on wednesday, I was going to get my car coded tomorrow. Should I wait for the recall before getting my car coded? Will the recall work erase the coding? Let me know guys

Assuming the wisdom of post 75 in this thread is correct, there's a high likelihood that you'd lose certain kinds of coding, yes. If you're paying someone to do it, you SHOULD probably hold off.

Fix will not harm any coding done - they aren't running any updates - just disconnecting the battery which has no effect on coding.

I coded my car for a ton of stuff - still the same as it was when I took it in

I already posted what was actually done so there is no need for guessing...

They kept my car for 2 days once for an oil change. I remember thinking to myself they don't know how to run a business because they are giving me a loaner. Then I thought, wait a sec, they probably bumped me, so that they could take someone who is paying $$$$ for work to be done. They know what they're doing.

steering angle sensor has to be reset by the tech after the fix or else you will get a nice message on the dash/nav screen.. the tech @ my dealer forgot to do this and i had to drive back to get it reset.

Just got my E90 back from the recall service. Car was at the dealer for 4 hours but got to drive a 2013 F30 328i with 100 miles on it! Could not stand the F30 steering in the luxury line. I prefer the E90
