New Tips for OEM Perf Exhaust?
I have the OEM PE on an 07 335 and as with everyone, the tips stick out too far. Sounds absolutely awesome btw...
I am taking it in to a local shop to have them trim (something?) not sure just what yet but I thought hey, this would be a good way to get some double walled aluminum rolled edge tips and just have them mount them back a couple inches more than the current chrome round ones. Question is: Has anyone done anything like this? What works and looks good? I'm not sure if I want to go to 4" tips, I'm not driving a ricer and have no desire to look like one but the stock cutouts do seem to be just over 4" to fit nicely in there. I also am worried about getting too close to the bumper, not for heat but for the transfer of the sound as I have done that in a truck that was really modified and until we figured out what was causing it, it sounded just like the worst drone you could imagine... Moved the pipe 2" away from the body it was touching and it sounded like the killer built, cammed motor it was... Thanks |

I got 4" cyba black chromed. On paper they sound huge..but when installed they fill the bumper perfectly. And it isn't ricer at all IMO. And there are some that are damn ricey.
