Just replaced starter e90 330i
Thought I'd share a couple of pics
This job took me a good 5 hours with the help of my stepson. A second set of hands is handy when disconnecting some of the wires while simultaneously holding up the intake. Note that I did NOT remove the throttle body from the intake. New starter has been working fine-cranks very fast, but didn't look to be as nicely made as the OEM. I managed to get the dreaded rear hose off without breaking it. I took off the left side, and left the right connected until I had the intake out. I replaced it with a new one anyway. My 330i had 160k when the starter began getting sluggish- it died about 3 days later. My intake valves were sparkling clean (thought I had a pic grrrr), and the throttle body didn't look too bad either. This was a tough job, but that first crank was very satisfying

Good job! That intake is often a PITA to remove!
