Another dash rattle
I am pretty sure this one is coming from the top dash vent and that speaker in the middle. Did anyone try to take that vent off? I am just wondering if it can be easily taken off so I can put some felt tape on there. I can feel that there is some play in in as I try to move it. This is the only rattle I have left in the car after fixing couple so just need some pointers. Thank you

bump... i have the same rattle - can only hear it from 35mph and up. sounds like it is coming from under the center speaker, i press on everything in that area and the rattle doesn't stop. anyone have info on this?

I have a rattle there also. Somewhere on the top of the dashboard. Close to the windshield. Haven't been able to make it disappear by pressing on the different air vents etc. My rattle appears mostly during cold weather while accelerating and between approximately 1500-1700 rpm (I drive a 325d -09).
This is driving me crazy, doesn't exactly feel "premium". Does anyone know of a good fix for this problem? |

Yep same here man- only mine happens on idle mostly.
I've pretty much given up- four different dealerships tell me there's nothing wrong with my car. I'll just wait until an engine light comes on- fuck it. |

I could have sworn that my noice was coming from the dashboard but it actually seems to be the backside of the rearview mirror that is rattling in my car. I read about this in another thread and thought it unikely as the noice is clearly coming from the dashboard. However, when I grab the mirror, the noice disappears. The sound must be bouncing off the windshield creating the illusion that it is coming from the dashboard. Maybe this can be the explanation someone else as well.
