I think my interior is fine without iDrive. I don't really see much of a use for it since I usually just ask my iPhone for directions.

I'd be inclined to agree, even considering the hit one'll take trying to sell the current car.

This is just an guess on my part, but retrofitting nav/iDrive would, I think, cost somewhere around $4K-$6K, for one needs a new dash, new radio, new computer software, new center console, the maps for the Nav, the iDrive controller, and probably a wide variety of other stuff.

I love the simple and classy look of the car without iDrive. I like that there's nothing there to steal focus away from the driving experience.

I did, however, want additional functionality, so I installed a double DIN HU instead with Navi, BT phone, BT audio, Video, SD, USB, iPod, etc. etc.

Couldn't be happier with it.

+1

I too wish I sprung for it instead of settling. I have a mount for my smartphone though so I have most of the functionality excluding vehicle diagnostics.

Agreed. I think the e90 ages really well.

When I got my car I drove a few 07-08 A4s and they looked like trash in my opinion inside, looked 10 years old.

I will say I always have thought Audi interiors were overhyped.

Anyway no idrive. Love it. Use my iPhone for music/nav

I have idrive/nav, and in all three of my BMWs- and even if I didn't my interior would be far from plain LOL

I have idrive...i like it. makes my car feel sophisticated! i think these days cars should have a larger display for everything (not just nav)...although paying 2000+ for this feature is nuts considering the iphone/s4 samsung covers much of this tech now. that wasn't entirely true 4 years ago when I got my e92. i think though whenever i look at newer cars I'm always buidling that navi feature.

I'm with you. Having it on my F10, I'm spoiled and don't want a car now that doesn't have it integrated into the car itself, even though native nav isn't really a "must have" feature. Indeed, were I having to be budget conscious about a car purchase, I would probably have nav instead of other things that are similarly priced. That's the decision I made buying my son's F30; I bought his car with nav and the HK radio, but without the sport package and leather because I wanted to keep the price at or below $40K. He's perfectly happy with the car, so I guess I made the right decision, but even if I didn't the world wasn't ending and peace in our time wasn't averted because of it.
