2008 E93 320i - Dashboard and audio problems

This is an ongoing problem which has been occurring for about 4 months now. I have posted on other forums but had no luck in finding anyone else who has had similar problems.
If I don't use my car for about a week, the radio display is completely blank on startup. The parking sensors don't bleep and neither do any of the dashboard alarms (lights on etc).
If I use the car regularly all seems OK.
After about 5 or 10 minutes the radio display suddenly springs to life and works perfectly - until the next time the car is unused for roughly a week.
My first thought was that a module somewhere was either hibernating or just not starting up after being idle for a while.
Everyone told me that a new battery would fix it.
It didn't of course.
My car went in for MOT and a service in early January and I got them to fit and register a new battery.
The fault is still exactly the same.
When I reported this back to the forums everyone told me to replace the battery!
I went back to my local garage yesterday and they did a diagnostic run which came up with a fault code as follows:
Audio Gateway 3.0 A168 control unit Fault on starting.
Can anyone tell me whether this points to anything specific or if it's just a red herring?
Many thanks for any help.

IBS system might have gone bad.

IBS system might have gone bad.
Those symptoms usually mean battery or
alternator though.(not charging the battery enough)
Battery not getting charged enough.
You can try disconnecting the IBS at the battery.
Which sound system do you have ?
Which Nav or Radio?
Did you have the recall for the Power Cable to the
Dashboard Fuse Box.

Read about the ibs in the first pdf.

Hi
Thanks for the info.
The battery charging appears to be fine. I have the professional audio system fitted but have no idea if the recall for the power cable was done. Was that also a recall in the UK?
I've downloaded those links and will try and have a read of them tomorrow.
Many Thanks for that
