Wish I lived in Seattle, I would open up shop in my garage for people to visit who needed work done. You could drop over, drink a beer and pay me to work on your car.

I wish... Wife works for Daimler in Portland, so no chance of that happen. If anything we'll end up in German. I have to admit, you have a much larger BMW community up North. I'm surprised Portland isn't bigger. I've only ran into five people in Portland than hang on e90post.

Hopefully next summer I'll be able to break free and hit some of the events in your neighborhood.

Cantrell Motors in Kirkland charges $100 for a 335i. They use Motul oil.

I've never used a BMW Indy shop but heard good things from both strictly BMW and broadstrokes. I usually find coupons on the stealership websites. Last oil change I got at BMWNW was $80+ tax

I change my own so I don't have to do crazy things like mark/check to see if they changed the oil filter.

+1. I bought all the stuff to change my oil but it's been sitting in my trunk for a couple months now. So cold!

One of the easiest cars to change oil on. Rubber filter wrench to get the filter cap off, 15 or 17mm socket I think for the oil drain plug.

My X5 for the last 6 (out of warranty) years was always serviced at BMW Seattle and I never paid more than $100 for the oil change. A few times mainly because of convenience I tried some indy shops in Lynnwood/Everett area and they charged me over $120. Just recently took my wife's newly acquired 328 to BMW Seattle and it cost me around $80 for the oil change (I do get 10% discount). Plus I always appreciate their courtesy inspection of the car while not being pushed to buy any additional work or services. They also have shuttles that can take you around downtown while you are waiting.

Agreed. It seemed more tedious to change my old Corolla's oil than it does to change this cars. I just hate trying the "jacking up" process.

I would avoid Strictly BMW. I had them do work on my BMW before I moved from there to Arizona, come to find out later, they charged me for work they didn't do.

Strictly BMW messed up my buddies car, and made him take it for BMW Bellevue to fix up their mess up. Who paid the 1K bill? My buddy. Strictly BMW took no responsibility.
