The question is too absolute in it's nature. Best car in the world?

To somebody who is looking for a daily/weekly track car without spending thousands in modifications, this wouldn't be the best car in the world.

To somebody needing a weekly escort vehicle for half the youth soccer team, this wouldn't be the best car in the world.

To somebody needing an economical commuter vehicle for a daily 150 mile round trip for 3-4 employees, it may not be the best car in the world.

I wanted a sports coupe with power at least equivalent to my old 96 V8 mustang, great handling, enough space for my golf clubs, interior luxury, decent gas mileage and aesthetic appeal to be my daily driver and something I really enjoyed driving. For me, it was the best car I could buy.

Agree.

That car is only a year or so away.

i guess the title " best car in the world " is subjective and open to many different interpretations ...but if its plausible at least that the 335 can even be spoken of in such a thread without ridicule.....then that speaks volumes to me.

I entered a dual carriageway today and without thinking just applied some throttle to overtake some slower moving cars on the inside lane, the car whipped past them and i thought to myself "wow that felt eager, what gear am i in ?", it felt like you might expect 3rd gear to feel or maybe 4th in a more powerfull car..........i glanced down at the shifter and i was in 5th

No way I can get past a smidge of throttle without the missus shouting, i've started using sixth more now as the low revs disguises the acceleration a little...

Something an N/A can't do anyway.
are these any good for a mild power gain doughboy....?

if you want something dead simple, plug and play, the jb plus is the best product out there!

but it's like drugs, once you start...you will eventually want more and more.

If you want extra BHP go for the JB4 or Procede or Cobb. I had the JB+ on my car whilst it was still under warranty. The BHP gains on the website are optimistic, I got 320bhp on a RR running the JB+ on 50% setting with superb leaded. It's a good bit of kit, but very simple compared to the other tunes available, and as already mentioned once you start fiddling you wouldn't be able to stop

mmm, im assuming 50 % setting is half what the jb + can do, what did it do on 100%.
Did the car feel quicker with it fitted ?
cheers

Fitted mine last night (JB4).The difference is unreal. Put it in map 5 and let it learn with a few good runs. It's not just the top end bhp figure that matters. The transformation in low down push is where it really earns its name.
Best car in the world? Certainty one of the best all round cars in the world. Popping to tesco or smashing round the Nurburgring, it's happy. Don't try getting yr pushbike in the boot though.

The car felt like it has more grunt lower in the power range but not dramatic change. JB+ on 100% might trigger fault codes so I never went above 50%(no idea what). When I went from JB+ to JB4 the difference was much more noticeable

Conservative I think. Map5 on super and I think you will be looking at 360+ bhp+lbs/ft.
As stated above though, it's the earlier delivery that matters.

I was refering to the JB Plus...

not sure you will get 360bhp out of the JB Plus...

Remap, i.e JB 4/ Proceede/ Cobb - you should get between 360bhp and 390bhp...

But no doubt the new f30 based chassis will be a long way ahead of the old e90 based chassis. Considering the e90 was developed about 9-10 years ago.

This is an interesting thread.

I was looking at a B7 RS4 Avant but I think I've decided to go for a 335i touring. I've had an M3 previously but I really want an estate for the family and although 4WD would be nice I think the thrist and running costs of the RS4 would drive me mad. The 335i seems to offer the best of both worlds...if only I could find a low milage manual.

The B8 S4 (3.0 TFSI) avant is a bit of a weapon with a remap and gives reasonable MPG... There is a video of Chris Harris beating a brand new RS4 in one with just a remap (circa 410BHP).

A 335i Touring with Upgraded turbos would be a fun sleeper tho..

What's low mileage in your book?

Any colour / spec prefs etc?
