Does anyone know if 335 with JB3 map 3 is faster than stock mazdaspeed 3?

funny thing is.. whenever i drive my 335i.. I NEVER run into one of these MAZDA 3's.. everytime i drive my gf's base 2008 civic automatic i run into these guys.. pisses me off coz i cant do anything to them AHAHH.

I owned a 08 mazdaspeed3 for 2 years and still have friends that drive them. 2500-4000rpm i'd say the speed3 is stronger. everywhere else it isn't. This is stock N54 vs stock MS3. The MS3 is all midrange with a narrow but explosive powerband, the 335 have it after 4000~. MS3 is a huge pain to launch, my best 1/4 was a embrassing 14.7@97 on a hot humid night at Cayuga, I got the car to wheelhop so bad the dashboard turned off on one of the runs.

The speed3 is down on HP, drivetrain lashes and fwd. It does have a few advantages, one is weight, the other is far far far shorter gearings, the gearing turns into a disadvantage tho once modded, they're far too short for 300whp car.

0 to 60 in 5.3. Stock 335 is better. However, I've heard of some Mazdaspeed3's modded to be >300 hp. Now that's what the driver was just telling me. I'm not sure if that's really the case since I'm not sure if the stock drive shaft for the Mazdaspeed3 can handle that kind of power...

For those people questioned about my driving skills, yes, I was a dumb driver I couldnt even run over a mazdaspeed 3 IN THE RAIN. But all people may have forgotten, or I didn't make it clear is the fact that,

It was FRIKKING RAINNING. and he was IN FRONT OF ME. I only followed him for a couple hundred meters. Who know whom step on the throttle first?

I never said I cannot race him, no matter how dumb my driving is at least I know how to run a good straight line with a 335. at least I know my car is a under 5 sec car.

Just stop commenting bad sides about this incident. There is nothing impossible in this world. Who the F knows if that speed 3 has a V10 in it lol.

plus, he's just asking you guys a question no need to flame him. So what if he didnt go full throttle, some weather conditions you just dont feel right giving the full punch but that doesnt mean he cant drive or that he made the 335 look bad

I had a 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 until I wised up and got my 335xi. Those cars are pretty quick for what they are. I put a intake, DP and FMIC on mine and was over 325whp. That is a lot of power for a car that is so light and costs $26k loaded. Remember though it is front wheel drive. TONS of torque steer with that much power. Fun little car but definitely too ricey for me. Which is why I dumped the POS.
