code 2D5F (Reset)

Another day, another code...

As on my other thread, I'm dealing with all kind off codes. (Really depressing) ;-)

Today I checked my ecu again to see the result of my waterpump fix. (Went perfectly) but now another code popped up

2D5F:
2D5F Reset
Error will not cause a warning light
Error is not currently present
Test conditions have been completed

Freeze Frame Information
Event 1Odometer 102656kms 63787miles
kilometer reading 102.400,00 km
reset type 67,00 -
motor speed at reset 1.120,00 rpm
CPU load at reset 50,78 %

Event 2Odometer 102744kms 63842miles
kilometer reading 102.400,00 km
reset type 67,00 -
motor speed at reset 2.240,00 rpm
CPU load at reset 62,11 %

Event 3Odometer 102896kms 63936miles
kilometer reading 102.400,00 km
reset type 19,00 -
motor speed at reset 1.344,00 rpm
CPU load at reset 53,13 %

These freeze frames correlate to some very strange engine behaviour, the engine just dies upon those events. Given the last line of the BT output (CPU load) it looks like ECU related. My idea is that the ecu seems to get a reset at that time. But why?

My ecu has been recenlty replaced as the other one was not working fine (according to BMW)

I could not find any other threads on google or e90 etc...

Hope somebody has some idea or experience with this.

Thanks,

René

You rang?

I guess I joined the 2D5F club too.

Seems to go hand in hand with a coolant sensor error code for me.

I measured the coolant temps and they don't go over 100C yet my rad fan comes on full blast in cool weather.

It's a mystery to me?

Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue? I have the same strange ecu cut outs, and it’s been a nightmare trying to track down the cause!

Any update on this from anyone? Mine has the same and it’s been in two garages that can’t find the fault!

Anyone has an answer?

joined as well

Currently 10 faults in DME for this code. Every once in a while, the car will hard reset while driving causing the car to not have any power.

Something is resetting the DME. Could be a wiring issue. Look at this and last post
