Uneven tyre wear

Hi all,

I'm due to replace all four tyres next month but have noticed the last outer inch of the front offside tryre has really worn & is bordering on being bald. Is this a tracking issue or just down to the tyre itself? I think the pressures are correct although tbh I haven't checked them for a few weeks. All the other tyres appear to have worn evenly.

Sounds like the alignment. Have you hit anything; kerb, pothole etc?

Likely to just need tracking doing. I've just noticed the same with one of my front. Most of the tyre had about 5mm of tread, but the edge was actually down to canvas.

Got the tyre replaced and had the tracking done - hopefully will have sorted it.

Common problem on E90/1. Outer edges wear first on the fronts especially with runflats. Get the car four wheel aligned when you replace the tyres on a Hunter system, not a cheap front wheel tracking job. Low tyre pressures also speed up the balding outer edges, so keep an eye on them monthly. I run mine 0.2 bar above recommended.
