AC compressor making ticking noise
My car suddenly started to make a loud ticking sound when I turn my AC on. The AC blows cool and no issues there- but the sound is annoying. Is this a replacement for the compressor? or is there a simpler fix like the tenssioner, bearings etc?
thanks! year 2009 E-93 52K miles. |

A 'replacement" for the compresor?? Not sure what you mean. Try turning ac on, open up hood to peek in engine area, try to see if you can hear that ticking source from anywhere near the comp. Take note of comp belt, etc. Then, try to see if noise is maybe from interior/dash area.

OK, Zul, I gte it now. Im sure there is a replacenment for your comp. When it comes time, you will have to decide to spend $$ for new or get reman from reputable supplier. Either way, I wouldnt do a thing until cold ac quits. Unless noise REALLY gets bad. What can hapen with bad noise is parts can dislodge, Like metal shards, etc, and clog the TXV (or other type orfice tube, not sure whats in your car). Then, you have to change that for sure when you open up the system. Best insurance. Let mme know, and I will try to help, although, Im not a 100% expert- just worked on a bunch of auto ac........
Good luck. |
