Newbie here....Bye TT.....hello le mans blue E92 :)
Hi All,
Im new here, have been using this site for a while now whilst looking for my BMW, but now a member so thought I would say hi and show some pics of my new car.... and my old Audi TT. My previous beaut.... The new beaut... The first mod I just had to do as soon as i got my new car home was install LED angel eyes.... this isn't the best of pics though as was done with iphone and the angle isn't the best...but they do look great in the flesh! I have a serious OCD when it comes to cleaning my cars, so now im on the hunt for products best suited for a car of this colour....what do you guys suggest? Im also tempted to fit the gloss black kidney grills to match the gloss black window surrounds etc... |

Hi mate, thanks, it was a very nice clean car. As for how fast it was... It was a different type of speed to the BMW, I felt like I was in a go-kart, had a great nippy 2.0 turbo engine, where as the 325 is like a charging bull, once you get it going a bit...

I want to detail it yes. i have done all my previous cars myself, but I have no polisher, so always done by hand. I have just now run out of my snow foam soap, so I now want to try something new for that and try some new stuff for polish, sealant etc etc |

I'd recommend getting a DA polisher, so much easier.
I use Menzerna PO203S for the first stage polish with a white lake county pad, and then Menzerna PO85RD with a blue lake county pad for the second. This is a pretty light combination so it won't be too abrasive. I also have an orange pad for any areas that do not come out. Then i seal with a few layers of Menzerna Power Lock and then wax a couple of layers with Dodo Juice Purple Haze, and then top up the wax every few weeks. I had a Monaco Blue E90 so similar colour and it looked very nice after, some people thought i bought a new car! I'd also recommend getting some Chemical Guys Wash and Gloss, which will remove any previous waxes/sealants before you start your detail. |

I'd keep chrome grilles on the car if its a six cylinder. I always look at the grilles on other E9x's when I'm out and about on the road, the reason being that the sixes have the chrome.
Black grilles are fine of course and it's down to the owner to choose but my personal preference is for the chrome. I like the LED lights, how long did that job take to complete?

Lovely car, i am just waiting to collect my E92 in Le Mans Blue and i am a fantatic for keeping cars clean, i am interested in what best products etc. i am unsure to claybar it fromt he start and build it up that way, or just lots of coats of Auto Glym Super resin wax to clean the paperwork and then gloss it up as i have seen some great examples of some mega shines on Le mans Blue.

SRP is full of fillers, get it machine polished or do it yourself and use a decent wax and sealer combo.

Welcome mate, car looks great. Got to be one of my favourite colours for an E9X.
I've got an eBay special boot spoiler, quality and colour match really are top notch for not much money. |

Hi
I'm a new member here too, with an almost identical looking car, same colour, wheels, eveything! I cant seem to post new threads so I can put any pics up though I want to change the angel eyes to LED, but ive heard of problems with them starting up and flickering etc? Do you have that issue, do they look like the stock ones from the newer models? Which bulbs did you use? I also want to get a rear lip spoiler and add folding mirrors so any pointers would be great! Hope you dont think im hijacking your post! Thanks! |

Thanks for the positive remarks and welcomes.
Mod plans....nothing too drastic to be honest, as im trying to save to buy a house now. So only a few little bits and peices that the girlfriend would never notice - Maybe some black kidney grills - The discreet type boot spiler - I would also love to just splash out, on some decent car detailing products, as i gave most of my stuff away to my brother when i sold my last Audi TT. And would also like to get all my alloys re-furbed, there not kerbed, but inside the rim I can see some slight bubbling, and I have OCD with things like that, so its playing on my mind, whilst typing this, its actually now really bugging me the thought of having wheels like this HAHA. |

welcome to you to then! You need to have I think 5 or 6 posts before you can load a new topic. I bought the LED kit from a guy off ebay, brand new, cost me £70 i think. And they are perfect, no flickering and are perfect white, no blue tint etc. I will upload a link if you like to the seller? |
