Arrow Can I get some 335is tuning help?

I'm kind of new to the 335is and have looked up a lot, but are there any vendors on here who sell like aftermarket ecu chips? Also, what ecu chips are good and how much horsepower do they add?

Sorry for all of this sounding quite noobish; however some of you guys on here know so much that I'd rather go to you than google.

The 335is has the N54 engine (same engine that powered 2007-2010 335i), so most tunes meant for those N54 will work with a 335is (JB3, JB4, Dinan, Procede, Cobb, just a name a few).

Without any hardware modifications, most of them you can safely get a 60hp and 60ft/lb of torque. With the 335is you maybe able to push it a bit further compared to 335i because of the extra cooling.

Below is a somewhat dated comparison chart, but gives you an general idea.

You should research the procede v5, or wait for cobb to support the is. Read the sticky, and then youll know which tune NOT to get

Welcome, you have a lot of options.. the 335is is pretty quick in stock form with the added boost and overboost function, and upgraded cooling. You can go with a flash; Dinan, GIAC, Cobb or piggyback/chip; Proceed, or Juicebox (JB3 or JB4) are my only recommendations. Do your research from this section of the site, plenty of reviews on all the aforementioned products, and make the choice that's for you.

By the way, I just wanted to inform you that a tune runs more boost full time then your 7 second overboost haha its crazy
I strongly suggest you reading the sticky on basics of tuning and timing, it might be a little hard for you to understand since youre new to this, but Im sure youll learn quickly

Cobb does not have a tune for the 335is yet. If you're in Texas, they are looking for a 335is to develop a map for it. For that matter, I don't think GIAC has a tune for the 335is yet either.

With currently available options, I'd go with a Procede V5. There are many 335is owners running the Procede.

+1 Go for the procede v5
But first do reasearch and figure out hoe it works and how to use it...etc

I have done much research on them both, seems as jb3-4 is the way to go, then procede, vishnu and cobb seem like there right behind, i have yet to see more then 1 335i on youtube with cobb so hard to tell how cobb has done the claim around 313whp 398wtq on 91 octane with just the tune. Not sure for Burger yet though, i was thinking about going with the Jb4 and DCI

My curioscity has gotten the best of me here. What was it exactly to lead you to pick the JB4 over all others? What makes it the best?

What you should be asking yourself is what tune is best for YOUR needs.

Just get a COBB, quick, easy to install. Really transforms the car.

Never used jb4

have owned both v5 procede and now own Cobb accessport.

Power is similar (as with all tunes) bur the Cobb is smoother, easier and more conviniet to install and offers flash based tuning which can be custom tuned on a dyno for optimal safety and performance (once atr comes out)

IMO, Cobb ftw and that's where I put my money.

But dont forget that a piggyback will always be extremely hard to detect while a flash(even if flashed back to stock) will always leave traces of an ecu flash.
I do agree cobb is good, but imo v5 autotuning is the best because kf the autotuning which will lower boost if you put a bad batch if gas or if weather is bad which really helps!

Im sorry buddy but you clearly havent done your reasearch!!
If you want to learn something, read tbe sticky called basicsmof tuning and timing. Youll then realise that an essential safety feature to protect our engine is being able to control timing which the jb4 does NOT however the procede v5 and cobb do!
Research takes time, dont be fooled by cheap prices...

The guy did not do any research, he simply likes the jb4 because jts cheap! He doesnt realise that it lack several safety features such as controlling timing.
I recommend a procede v5 you cant go wrong, 70whp(give or take), very safe since it does control timing to avoid knock. It also has autotuning which will autotune itself to the right psi depending on weather, gas quality, bolt ons, etc so you can never run the wrong map. It also clears ALL codes and can be uninstalled for service.
I dont see what more you could ask out of a tune
