Do you have to remove Procede if you are out of warranty and go to the dealer?

In process of switching from Dinan Stage 2 to Procede V5 - and I am PUMPED about it....

I called the dealer and asked how much it would be to REMOVE the Dinan Stage 2 flash .... (took 1 hour to put that on)... they said 2.5 hours (I think at $150 shop rate (Canada). This is unofficial, they are giving me the actual quote soon and I will edit this when I get the real number... but this sucks.

QUESTION: If I am out of warranty like I am now.... do I even have to remove the Procede if I am forced to go into the dealer to do a HPFP maybe... Does anybody know?

I asked the mechanic at the dealership if I have risk on doing all my mods now that I am out of warranty and he said it doesn't matter now what I do... they aren't responsible and I pay for all anyway....

In what instance now would I have to remove this?

Once out of warranty I don't think you ever will need to remove any of your mods. They can't not perform a recall because you modded your car.

front and rear rotors and pads, and new headlight assembly and headlight motor.

Does your dealer take out of town folks? Say, from Oregon?

Hope you never have to go for non-recall warranty work or if you do they will be just as helpful!

OP - switching to map 0 and disabling CAN clear should be fine.

dealer said as long as u don't come in with a blown tranny or motor you're good with the mods. I won't say who though.

I'm pretty sure rotors and pads are not under recall so he was successful in this situation too.

What about the extended HPFP warranty? Can't the dealership deny pump replacement based on the mods installed?

they won't deny recall work if you're modded, but if you're still under existing warranty, they may flag you.

That's not what I meant. Some cars like mine are not flagged for HPFP/Injector recall, even though I already had 3 of my injectors fail.

Also, once your recall is done for your HPFP, BMW will consider the recall to be completed, and any subsequent HPFP failures (if any) will fall under the extended warranty. At least that's how I think it will work.

You have a 10 year extended HPFP warranty. So technically you still have HPFP warranty after 4 year bumper to bumper.

True true....I guess I forgot that they warranty that specific part extra. That said, I dont think they can deny you at all with any aftermarket part since its a recall, and a known one.

Only time you would need to remove a tune for dealer is if they think it is the problem. It helps diagnosing easier. However the chance of the tune being the problem is usually unlikely.
