I am not claiming to know it all, I am just saying you obviously are not very knowledgeable. The majority of your posts are incorrect.

It happens that a car could leak, but for it to pass the redline....you better get that checked out.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it yet but he's going to sorely miss the LSD from his M3, especially in a 6-speed manual car. That's a pretty big chunk of change for someone with a manual transmission (welded ring gear).

Yeah, LSD is definitely a nice modification to have. Im sure he already knows though, since he owned a 335i first.

if I was to get into a 335 w 8k to drop on mods there are a few things I would need to avhe

-light wheels w proper rubber on them
-good coilovers
-lsd
-upgraded turbos w the mods to support them

problem is i dont think you could get all that for 8k, if you can have a blast!

Please consider the following prior to getting your tune.

You would need to beef up your suspension and other components to be able to handle the extra power you intend to introduce without sacrificing ride quality. What good is all that power if you can't use it? What good is speed if your car can't handle it?

Here are some suggestions if you really want a car to go and not just for show. Prices are included so that you can see what you're getting into, rather than leaving it all to speculation.

This was my very first mod, but any diff would do: Quaife diff or Wavetrac or Giken or whatever, but get yourself a diff/LSD. Depending upon whether you have a bolted diff or welded diff, price would be (from HP Autowerks website): $1305 (diff only + 500 labor install) = $1800, to $2995 (complete unit swap out + 300 labor install) = approx $3300 (only if you are serious about real performance for your ride).

So, taking worst case scenario, here is your bottom line if you want to stay within your budget:
  • Quaife (best to worst case scenario) diff (HP Autowerks): $1800 - $3295
  • Helix FMIC Group Buy (Helix): $799
  • OEM BMW E9X M3 Suspension Component Kit (Tischer): $1825
  • E9X AST Coilover System with Swift Springs (400F/800R) (HP Autowerks): $2359
TOTAL COST: $6783 - $8278

If you can spend more:
  • OEM BMW Performance Power Kit for N54 Engines (Tischer): $1675 (Optional, nice to have, but drop this if you get the diff)
  • OEM BMW Performance Brake System (Tischer): $1975

Now you are ready for some serious performance gains from your tune, whatever tune you decide to get. Stuff to enhance your ultimate driving machine ain't cheap, you know, but they're worthwhile in achieving your ultimate goals.

Prep your foundation, first. Hope this helps.

You really shouldn't listen to all stories people make up. My trans never failed..it went into a self protect mode. But you have to remember, my car ran 133mph on the Vbox. (That would be over 135mph at Sacramento). Its only at those power levels that it acted up. Subsequently on many documented runs, the transmission was flawless run after run in the 120-124mph trap speed range.

Anyways, back on topic, the biggest power gains to be had are through tune, and meth injection. Nothing else comes close...except for N20. You will gain some with the DCI with meth injection and higher boost levels. Down pipes help with spool-up, and low end throttle response. I personally have not seen big gains top end with down pipes. Of course I only used 2.5 UR DPs. But apparently they were good enough for 130+ mph traps.

I think you are really going to miss the LSD that the M had, It was probably the best investment I have put into my 135i

Your budget is pretty close to mine, I'll tell you what I got, and the order I would recomend getting them in, and exactly what I paid, all in (all focused on driving enjoyment, not specifically 1/4 mile times)...

1) Procede - $750
2) CP - E Oil/Intercooler $840 (Its all about safety and cooling, plus you get HP!)
3) Wavetrac LSD - $1050 + $700 install
4) Dinan Stage 1 Suspension and M3 front control arms (add - camber) - $1566 (got 25% off sale price from Dinan, currently on sale for 20% off)
5) M-Tech steering wheel and m-sport shift knob - $500 (huge driving enjoyment as that is what your hands feel

All that totals only about $5400 bucks, which would leave you $2500 for tires/brakes/more power, which ever you choose. I think my level of power suits the car extremely well and would not want more without serious chassis upgrades. I rarely can use my power on the street as I get up to hyper legal speeds VERY quickly. Even on the track, with the chassis set up as is, I couldn't use much more power as I get scary fast on the straights with my current set-up (145+ at 3 differant parts of Road America on street tires)

FWIW, the only other money I've spent on the car is wheels/tires (Breyton GTS-Rs which I LOVE), K&N insert filter. and track brake pads.

Thank you for bringing that up. I had actually been giving it some thought. The M3 was great at putting power to the ground and as I recal the 335i was not nearly at the same level. And all I was running on that car was a dinan stage 2 flash. I will definitely look into the LSD. Any idea how it works with the traction control systems? Do they need to do any reprogramming?

What does the BMW Power Kit consist of again? It also comes with a 2nd oil cooler and another fan for the radiator? Something like that anyway...

Yes, the CPE-E intercooler comes with a secondary oil cooler that mounds above the intercooler in series with the stock oil cooler.

If anyone has a 2008 to 2010 E90 or E93 with manual transmission and under 30k miles I would be interested, PM me. Anyways here are my plans:

2008-2010 E90 or E93 335i (AW)

Juicebox 4

AMS Intercooler

Active Auto Blowoff Valve

AFE cold air intake

Remus Sport Exhaust (need something on the quieter side)

H & R Sport Springs

19 inch BBS CH Matte Black or 19 Volk TE37 Matte Black

This would be about as far as I can go with my budget. I wanted something that will look good, go fast and not overheat. I spoke to my mechanic who works on a lot of these cars and he said with this setup car should put down around 400 rwhp. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Engine management (JB4, Procede, COBB or Giac), intercooler (HPF or AMS), BMS DCI or Mr.5 intake, catless dp (AR or icarbon) and LSD (IS A MUST!!!!)

And after those suspension, exhaust and then rims.
PS. Don't forget oil cooler and oil catch can.
