Holy cow the black editions are nice.
But, back on topic, ok so just a had a read of this weeks Autocar page 38 the review on the new RS4. In short they state it is the best RS so far. They clearly indicate that the B7 is as dynamically flawed as the rest fo the RS range, but have not stated this in so many words. What they did state though was that all previous RS cars have been fast in straight line and sounded great but never truly delivered on a challenging road. I thought that was a tad harsh. Given that old Christopher stated a fair case for the B7, however let it not be forgotten if one has watched any of his earlier videos he does clearly state that the B7 is probably the only car a person could ever need. However Andrew did state that he personally would prefer a manual RS and also further more the C63. Finally in conclusion they review goes on to say that the new rs4 is all the good things of the B7 and then some. They mainly put the increase in handling down to.... A. better weight distribution with 5% more mass sitting on the rear wheels ( 47 as opose to 42%) B. Crown wheel is able to deliver 85% of total power to the rear wheels. ( I know chris mentioned something about the wheel but sadly I couldn't hear very well whilst at work) C. the suspension dymanics have been fine tuned to offer greater off throtle line correction. My personal opinion to add this argument, is that Chris drove the car on austrian roads, and on track. Andrew Franknell is a bit of a kn*b. Chris probably left Autocar because of disagreements as the above. It's no biggie, i personally would hve neither RS nor C63. But it was interesting enough that I thought I would share. |
