Good deal on a trade?

My 330i arrives Friday. Dealer wants to give me 18.5K for my 2002 325 ci, 54000 miles, sport, premium, heated seats. Is this a good deal?

It really depends on convenience, time and money as to whether you trade in or sell privately. For me, trade in was the easiest but for your good self, a private sale may very well be the way to go.

All the best in whichever way you decide.

No trade in is ever a good deal! If Id just need a second car, Id give you 19 for it, and you still be happy.

I checked blue book for NY and for a manual if that's what u have?
Says $18,150.00. sounds like your getting a decent deal?
Do keep in mind by trading it for $18,500 you save over $1,000.00
on your new car tax wise. So it's like your getting $19,500 for your car.
If u sell outright? u need to get more then $19,500.00 to do better?

I asked my dealer about the tax savings and he said that did not apply for Maryland

I believe your salesman needs to get a new job?
Tax credit on trade in is entire United States.
Meaning: u get $18,500 for trade in & car is $40,000.
You pay tax on $21,500 not $40,000.

I tried to research this last night and it mentioned that CA, DC, MD, and some other states do nat have the trade-in credit.
