Angry Lost a metal cylinder in engine while doing Valve Cover

Ugh the valve cover is so irritating. I saw a metal cylinder after i took the VCG off in the engine and as I went to grab it it flew under the thing circled in red below.

Looks like there are some torx heads that I can remove and get under that piece with and retrieve the part. Is that okay to do? Wanted to ask before I dig myself into a deeper hole.

Those are the cam caps. Don't think You can just loosen them without breaking the cam unless you follow specific instructions like put engine at top dead center then using cam locks at back of cam then figure out which cam lobe is pointing straight down and loosen each at 1/4 turn evenly. Try a magnet wand first

What metal cylinder? If it was steel, just get a magnetic screw extractor and fish it out.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
