I'm a member of the family now, right?

After a long time paying off my Civic (2008, so maybe not THAT long) I have made a considerable upgrade. 60xxx miles, 06 330i. This is my first venture in to BMW's, but so far I've priced out a good list of mods.

Unfortunately, all I could find was an automatic in the colour\model\price range I was after, but to be honest it's so smooth, and in Sport the power is so immediate that I don't mind.

Exhaust, intake, CF roof\trunk spoiler and some newer head and tail lights. Maybe an ECU tune...

How you liking it so far?

Looks good!! You said you wanted to get new headlights, there's nothing better than oem out there so the best you can do is bake them open and redo the inside of them. The tails, definitely blacklines. Welcome and happy modding!

Also if you can get coilovers since I see you don't have sport package it makes a world of a difference. I have an xi w/ sport package but the xi's didn't come with sport suspension so I feel where you would be coming from so definitely put some cash aside for a suspension upgrade (either springs + shock combo or a whole coilover system).

If you mod the thing, do the suspension first. The car you bought is a German Buick.

You guys are all pointing this kid in the wrong direction, Why would you want new headlights, tails, trunk spoilers all that shit on a un tinted stock base model? Not even sport package or anything. First thing I would do is tint it, then look into getting rid of the boogy looking stock 17's, Find a nice set of take offs from a member, 18" 189's are a dime a dozen here and really transform the look. Let me make a simple list for you to keep it clean.

1) Tint, and % looks good against white. Personally I have 15% and air 80 on the front.

2) Wheels, Stock take offs from a 335 189's, 230's, vmr 710's etc.

3) If you dont like the height after the new wheels then find some sport springs to drop it a little.

4) Bmw Performance Exhaust

5) Forget all this headlight and tail light stuff, maybe do black grills if it will flow with the wheels. But keep in mind the chrome matches the door trim. Please dont do a cf roof, its not an m3 and on a stock base car it will look foolish.

This is solid advice, tint and wheels are ALWAYS my first. After that a drop always looks nice, black grills look good on the e90 and blackline taillights with led license plate lights will make the back look good, especially at night. Also you don't need a performance exhaust (unless you don't mind spending the $ of coarse) a lot of us have had custom exhaust jobs and they sound great and are usually around $500 all said and done.

None the less, Welcome and happy modding!!! There are a million parts for these cars online so enjoy!

Edit: Oh yea and LUX angel eyes

Great choice buying a 330i, too bad you are missing the sport package. Sport pkg is a must in my books... Anyways, Welcome!

I think you'll be in for more of a task than you realize with a headlight upgrade, since you have OEM xenons already. there are some mods you can do to your xenons, but you cant buy aftermarket depos and do a straight swap like another poster suggested.

I'd suggest a drop and some wheels first, and then go from there. welcome to the forum!

Congrats
1 tints
2 coilovers
3 wheels don't go with the usual csl rooms they're too cliche in my eyes at least they're still good looking
4 small cosmetic mods like gloss black grille blacklines are good too. Look around the forums and do whatever you think looks / is the best just don't cheap out on in important things like wheels and coilovers regret will be there sooner or later

Thanks for the advice, guys. I will be doing some light body mods to start off with, just to make it a bit more aggressive. Tinting is already scheduled for next week, with 35% around back, 25% up front.

Sadly, I can't tint below that due to the police in my area being sticklers for using their stupid little tint-ometer guns as often as possible. Wheels and tires will be a bit of an ordeal, as I plan on keeping the stock ones for beaters, buying a set of cheap Blizzak-shod stock 328 wheels, and then a set of summer rims and tires as well.

BMW literally makes the best looking OEM wheels I have ever seen, and I have no idea what to go for. I don't really like the look of the (Forgive me for not knowing the styles yet) 335i stock rims. I know that anthracite and bronze\gold looks good on white, but other than that... No clue.

In regards to suspension, I'm actually a bit curious about what to buy. This is my first european car, and I don't know what names are good for anything yet. If anyone has any pointers, feel free to let me know.

As for what I've paired my first few mods down to:

Headlights are indeed a huge bitch, so scrap that. I AM going to upgrade to the LED halo's, and do a slightly different coloured bulb for the projectors.

I'll probably be going ahead with the blacklines.

And for the last mod for this month, I'll be throwing on the CF roof spoiler, which looks quite slick in person.

And of course, the tint.

May I ask why? It's very thin, and in my opinion they look good on the sedans. It's not like a wing attached the roof or anything awful.

Also! One of my angel eyes went out (both units, driver side) - Blue LED or red for the replacement? I'm thinking I could do both, and keep the red for car shows and stuff, and run the blue ones otherwise so I don't look like a complete douche.

Sure you can ask why, and i say all of this as polite as possible and this is strictly my opinion, im glad you're enthusiastic about your new car as you should be. But you have a 110% base stock white on beige non sport e90. Putting a roof spoiler on and red halos will IMO look completely ridiculous. Its a bmw, not an integra. The car as it sits now is just very un agressive looking with those wheels and the chrome trim. I think a roof spoiler and red lights is the last direction id go with it. Like ive mentioned, tint, wheels, drop if it needs it and be done with it. Keep it clean. Dont over do it and slap on cheap cosmetic mods just for the sake of modding. Prioritize the list and realize red lights and spoilers on an otherwise stock car with spoked 17"s just isnt going to look very good. Realize im just trying to help
