My New Car
That had you all going
Got home to find the following had been delivered. According to the accompanying letter I won it in some competition related to BP Ultimate fuel (that I can't even remember entering). (1:16 scale, digital RC controlled)

Just a cheap Nikko thing - all the controls are digital (all or nothing), limited steering and no suspension to speak of.
The time to replace the E46 is rapidly approaching. Lot's of time on the car configurator and so on. Can't quite make my mind up between the E90/91 and 325d/330d or maybe just a 335d and the amount of options on each.

Its a minefield - I still haven't decided what I'm doing yet. Don't know whether to keep mine and get new wheels or bite the bullet. Still need to test drive a 335i

The 325d is the sensible choice for price, economy and loading it with toys. The 330d is sort of in no-mans land and the 335d is all go, but would have to be much more spartan on the options front. Need to see what deal can be done 1st (and convince my sister to buy a 1 series as well).

coast2coast were discounting around 14-16% when I enquired on the E90 - that's a massive saving and I can't see a dealer beating it.

Car Discount
I priced my E90 335d on drivethedeal - 14% discount on everything, including Individual options. First dealer I went to matched it and will take my car in trade. Deal done.

From the basic figures on the website (before options) they look to be doing about 12.5% on both the E90/E91 6-cyl diesels and the E90 335i at the moment.
Food for thought and ammo for bargaining. Also if they deal it might be a two car deal with my sister wanting to change as well.

Don't forget to check out the likes of Sytners for their ex-demo cars. They have some spanking new 335d's with all the toys on there for crazy money at the moment!

Just don't the one I test drove! Hard break-in doesn't begin to describe it!

Dealer ex-demo.
My 330D came in at £29,500 with 6k miles on the clock. Think it lists at about £38,000

When I got mine the dealer more or less matched coast2coast discount (and didn't take their commission into account). I think dealers will depending on their position... it was end of a quarter, they'd just launched some new cars and sales hadn't been as good as expected and I had a cabriolet at around the right time of year....
