We would charge 2 horus at $140 an hour.

Alignment is another $95

Bit late onto this thread I know but reading the above, would it be a good idea for those of us with stiffer lowering springs to uprate the shock mounts to M3 items as a compensatory measure ?

I don't know exactly how much faster they will wear. But rear tires tend to wear out faster anyway and it's dodgy to replace the rears while using the old front tires. So in practice it's no difference, I think?

By the way, the better handling doesn't come from the increased camber; it comes from the stiffer bushings that control the front wheel better. When you're in a turn, the soft bushings give up, the front wheel toes out causing understeer, and the car feels like a Camry.

If you're still concerned about the camber change, you can do the tension struts only, and skip the wishbones for now. And let us know your experience after the change! I hope to get mine done next week. HNY.
My tires are wearing excessively to the outside of tire from track. i have -.8 camber up front. I am lowered about 2" with KW V3s.

Going with front wishbone will add .75 neg camber. Running 1.5 neg camber should be fine for track and street use i think.

Some are suggesting this is a better option than getting camber plates. Is it a better route than going with camber plates? Are camber plates really important?
Dinan sells caber plates for $250 but are not adustable.

Orb indicates Stage 1.5 wishbones, tension struts, camber plates
why are the camber plates required?

Is doing the front tension struts and rear guide rods a good start (simple install too)?
before doing front wishbones?

So I don't frequent the Dinan website regularly. When did they put up their version of M3 parts swap for the 335? Did they plagiarize Harold/Orb or v.v.? Lots of us looked for bushing options a long ways back and didn't do anything about it. The M3 swaps are most convenient, albeit pricey; if you do everything (a lot more than the Dinan kit) you are into $1250+ for parts and $600+ for labor.

High Performance Bushing Kit
A complete set of stiffer bushings for both the rear subframe and front lower control arms is available for 335i models. Replacing the excessively compliant stock bushings with stiffer, high performance bushings improves steering response and feel, as well as making handling much more predictable. Cars equipped with larger tires and wheels also benefit from a reduction in the tendency to follow ruts and grooves in uneven pavement.

The system consists of the four rear subframe bushings and complete replacement front control arms with the stiffer bushings already installed.

Part # D280-0004
Labor Hours 7.4
Price $799.00
Point Value 1
Special Notes Does not apply to xi models. Special BMW tools are required to remove the rear subframe. Alignment is recommended after installation."

I am not sure, but we have started the R&D process before Bimmerfest 2008, so that was about March or April of last year.

We had the M3 strut tower brace kit at Bimmerfest, but no one noticed it. Soon after, the front tension rods and wishbones were installed.

The wishbone on the 335i uses a hydraulic isolator…..this means slop city. The rear sub frame isolators are hydraulic as well. The wishbones on e92 M3 bolts on to 335i and the bushing are much stiffer. There is absolutely nothing different about the front suspension geometry between the two cars. Dinan has a bushing kit that has these parts and I was able to see the part number on the control arm today and they do match. The whole Dinan bushing kits are from a BMW e92 M3 and that is why I listed them. BTW, I have the wishbone on my car already and 4 other parts as well and doing the rear isolators next week.

any solution yet for the shock rubber top mounts?

Tischer now has a full package for the M3 suspension upgrade on its site. Anything missing?

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

Kit includes:

* OEM BMW E90/92/93 M3 Front Strut Tower Brace Kit
* OEM BMW E90/92/93 M3 Front Control Arm/Tension Strut Retrofit Set
* OEM BMW E9x M3 Aluminum Rear Guide Rod Set
* OEM BMW E9x M3 Aluminum Rear Wishbone Set
* OEM BMW E9x M3 Front Sway Bar Kit
* OEM BMW E9X M3 Rear Sway Bar Kit

Total price is $1705

Opt to add the M3 Rear Subframe bushings (33312283382-383 x 2 of each) to your kit for an extra $220.00.

These look pretty generic, and I think the E36 or E46 rear upper mounts might even work. Don't quote me on that though, this is just from memory after working on some installs in the past. Otherwise it would be pretty easy to fab up something stiffer as they're a really simple design.

I have everything coming for mine. Do you reuse the nuts and bolts/studs for the arms?

Yeah. Alignment is absolutely needed after this. I remember installing these at home and the drive to the alignment shop was very scary.

If you did the lower wishbones, alignment is needed. The tension rods, not required.
