I'm betting the N55's single turbo setup will be able to put out more power than the twin setup we have now. Anyone have part numbers for the turbo and downpipe on the N55?

Interesting. It looks like they kept the old DME box but with a different insert to house a small fuse block and a few connectors. Lot of wasted real-estate.

What a waste of a totally functionable environmentally protected box for a ecu box just to deter tuning. Take a box fully protected and then u just use it for just a fuse box!!!!

That location actually look even easier to get to. Just remove the cowl and there it is. Just right in the spot where the rear intake tube would sit.

Yah! its TWIN POWER TURBO, yah see, its got twin powers to the turbo.
LOL I have to say that is a pretty lame that BMW let their marketing dept use a gimmick like that.
Most people will jump to the conclusion that it has two turbos.

Might be harder to get to IMO. It's underneath the manifold and getting to those wire harnass which there are 6 of them seems to be a PITA. Protection for the piggy back tune and wired is another challenge but this can be solved easy from just having really really long extension wires to place he piggyback in the original ecu box space and then out to the ecu at the new location

Why doesnt BMW just put one of those seals on the ECU box that you have to break to get into the box?

Piggyback tunes = gone at a penny a piece.

My thoughts also.

I don't like how the ECU plugs are vertical. IMO, it's asking for dirt, grit, and grime to cause connection issues... but I guess if you never unplug them then you're alright.
