Winter tires - All 4 or just rear? E93

I know Summer is right around the corner and not the right time but just curious for future reference as Chicago has one of the worst winters ever. (Weirdest weather too - Only place I know that can have all 4 seasons in a matter of a week)

For all you RWD guys using winter tires, do you guys only have them on the rear or all 4. I had blizzaks on all 4 in my last car (G35 coupe), but I'm wondering if it's really necessary this time around.

Live in west burbs of Chitown. Drove 1 hour on the all seasons that came with by 2013 E93. One of scariest times of my life in the snow.. Changes all four to Blizzak's. I think I can climb trees now!!

Live near Downers Grove. Pm me if you want to get together.

Absolutely all 4, I got the Alpina PA4's, they were great. Just an FYI, do curb your expecations, snow tires are definitely much better and you won't get stuck, but you still need to exercise caution.

Rear wheels handle propulsion, but the fronts will still bear the responsibility for steering and braking.

You'll want snow tires at all four corners if you're going to run them at all because you'll want consistent grip or else the car will handle in an awfully strange way in inclement weather.

In general, you'll want to have the same tires all around (regardless of type) for the sake of maintaining consistent grip characteristics so the car will handle more predictably. It's safer for you and others on the road.

Yea When I put the blizzaks for the first on my g35, I felt like I didn't really notice that much of a difference. But then when I went back to A/S a little early and I definitely missed the winter set up.

Like the others have stated, always install winter tires in sets of four.

Information and pricing on next winter season's winter tires should begin trickling in around late September.
