Thumbs up E90/E92 100k mile club

100,008 miles as of this morning. Here are some of the issues I have had.

1. Steering column replaced at 50k due to lock malfunction.
2. Replaced oil level sensor at 60k miles (original never worked, but new one works)
3. Front passenger seat airbag sensor not working properly. (disable light on airbag when 20 yrs old daughter sits in the seat and she is 5'9" and about 130 lbs) never fixed dealer blamed my V-1 hard wire to the sun roof and refused to fix.
4. Stock shocks gone at 70K miles (Replaced with Bilstein HD shocks)
5. Front tension strut bushings worn at 70K also. (Replaced with M3 parts)
6. About 4 software updates. (Various issues)

Anyone hit 100k miles yet? problems? Things to look out for? wear and tear issues? engine/turbo issues? mods have a negative effect? ... do share.

If you hit 100,000 miles, your EXTENDED warranty expired. Hopefully you used it otherwise you just wasted $3,000 for the warranty.

I just hit 100K last week. I'm at 100,527 miles right now. Got it inspected at the 99K mark and they didn't find any problems.

Good to see these cars still looking good after that many miles!

I've replaced a handful of electric water pumps on these cars, you guys are lucky.

33,300 miles:

Heated steering wheel recall
Seatbelt extender arm replaced w/ new modulator
replaced air bag emblem (was pitting)
HPFP @ 12,000 miles
software update last week
Had hail damage repaired last week ($800)

I hope all the bugs are out, and I have no more problems.

I think what has helped me besides routine maintenance is that I have drained & refilled w/ new coolant every 33k miles

Not bad at all.. My Lexus GS with 108k on the clock had more repairs which cost me $$$.. So much for BMWs being a money pit & exploding @ 100k..

Holy shit bro, I have a Aug 06 build (first production month of 335, I'm pretty sure), and I haven't even hit 50,000 yet. I've been from cali to chicago an back more times than I can remember on top of that. Commuter car?

That being said, mine had some more bugs that needed working out than yours, I guess:

- (2) HPFP's (previous owner delt with, I haven't had problems since I bought it)
- (3) Piezo injectors replaced
- (4) rotors replaced for reasons other than regular wear and tear
- (1) sway bar replaced
- Seatbelt delivery system replaced (4) times now
- (2) turbos replaced for wastegate rattle
- various interior covers and trim pieces for scratched rubberized coating
- a few software updates a long the way
- (1) headlight assembly replaced for leaking water in
- (1) CAS replacement
- (1) battery cable replacement
- (1) bluetooth antenna replacement

There's probably more than that I can't remember but I guess looking back it wasn't anything terribly serious, aside from the turbos. I'm out of warranty in Oct, and due my affliction with the performance mod bug I won't be wasting my money on the extended warranty, but rather put a few grand into a savings account for when something expensive, inevitably breaks.

FYI, my brother in law has an E46 323 with 187k on the clock. No issues other than a water pump.

This statement makes no sense at all. A warrenty protects against defects. If there are none, there is no way to "use" the warranty. Like any other insurance policy, you pay for the protection you hope to never need! Now if you meant a Maintenace Policy, then if you didn't get the last service before it expiresd you've wasted some money.

I bought my 07 E92 with 41500 miles, CPO and extended maintenance plan. That has me covered and maintained to 6yrs/100k mi (wecf)
